LeftyHawk
The Bluffs Course is one of my "must play" courses here in Michigan. Thought I'd post this to see if anyone could offer me some information or insite to playing the course. I'm hoping to get there. Sometime in the first half of May. palvord
I played The Bluffs in October of 2017, and had an absolute blast! The course is challenging, but fair. The greens were incredibly fast and the wind off of Lake Michigan truly impact every shot you have. There is not a single flat lie on the course other than tee shots. If you are so inclined to walk, be in shape. You are walking up and down sand dunes that somehow have grass planted on them. The elevation changes are part of the fun in selecting a shot to play. Possibly my favorite hole on the course is #16. It was the first time that I truly understood what a "ground game" was on a links course. I cannot wait to play the course again with all of the new information I have about what links golf is to see how I would fare. This is a very rough review based on memory from 2 years ago, so it is not very thorough. Enjoy your time. You feel like you are in a completely different world when you are there. MGoBlue100
I've played the original course three times. The fairways are generous, the bunkers are deep (so is the fescue), and the place is fantastic! I'm headed back in August to play the new South Course. Be prepared for wind, from every direction, and for the wind to change multiple times during the day. I'll pray that y'all get sunny weather at a minimum. It's my favorite place on the planet. Save time at the end to sit with a drink in the Adirondack chairs on the hill by 18 green and watch some other groups come in. Shankster, tony@CIC and palvord 3 Quote "Where'd it go?" I remember camping up there as a kid and driving by, it would be an absolute dream to play there sometime. dhartmann34
We're going up with a bunch of friends to a resort just south of the course at the end of July... So I'm sneaking off one day to play. mooremikea
Played there last summer. It is a great layout that is challenging but also fair. Bring your "A" putting game for the greens they are faster than what I am used to with quite a bit of slope. When in doubt the putt will break toward Lake Michigan. The groups I have played in hit a water ball into Lake Michigan on the number 12 tee box that has a large drop off overlooking the lake. Guests Guest Posted March 21, 2021 Guests Share Posted March 21, 2021 It's for sure a Bucket List course....Wife's favorite course so we go often... One little nugget about AB is if you go before June 1 there is a significant reduction in price in the golf and the rooms... Rooms will run close to $400 otherwise after June 1ish.... Enjoy!!
