Two of the best 3 woods I've ever used.....

Long time struggle with trying to find a 3 wood I like. I had basically gone to a strong 5 wood that was doing well but at times made it difficult to reach the par 5's in two. I used the Most Wanted section here and picked up two 3 woods from the older list. A Callaway Rogue 3+ and a Cobra f7 3/4 adjustable. I cranked the f7 down to 13.5* and now I have another problem. I have two 3 woods that are absolute bombers !! I keep alternating rounds with them trying to decide which to keep. Both are great clubs, thanks for the reviews MGS.

I eyed the Cobra fairway woods for a long time, due to all of the great things I've heard about them. Like you, I read through the Most Wanted section a couple weeks ago and that led me to picking up the Rogue 3w. Haven't been able to hit a ton of shots with it, but I've liked all that ones I have.

I've got a Tour Edge CB5 and it's the best I've found.  And you can find them cheap.  Make sure it has the Fubuki shaft in it.

At that point, it's down to aesthetics, sound, and feel. If still tied, break out the coin flip method.

The CB woods from Tour Edge going back to the original or CB2 have always been cannons. That's awesome you're loving your CB5!

I just keep rotating them each round waiting for one to act up. I will say the f7 might be a bit easier to hit but the Rogue appears to be a shade longer. F7 has the Fuji Pro 65 and rogue has hzrdus yellow.

Mark another f7 user here. Thing is a go to club all the time. I will be giving the f9 a good run soon enough as well to see if it keeps up!

I just put a HZRDUS yellow in my EXS driver.  Wow is that an awesome shaft.

I regret selling my Callaway Big Bertha Diablo 3 wood about 6 years ago - the ugly triangular one.  It wasn't the longest, but it was the most consistent I ever hit.  I've had a carousel of 3 woods since.

I've still got my Cobra Amp 4 wood that jumps into the lineup every now and again. It's totally the wrong setup for me with a R flex shaft but it's such a sweet club. I know.. just put another shaft in it.. I actually like the flight and distance. A stiffer flex will only bring the flight/spin down and add distance (did I just say that?) which will throw it out of its gapping. I'll take it out to shorter courses when it's not windy out. The thing just takes off like a rocket and lands Mary Poppins..

I have that shaft in a Rogue SZ driver as well. Haven't been able to spend much time with it yet. Still waiting for Spring to come to Chicago.........maybe by June ?
