This may qualify as the post that proves you’re certifiably insane. How one range session with a shiny new club equals you having a chance of winning is beyond me.

I’m happy to hear you are enjoying the new toys. Just don’t let all that driving range success go to your head. You still have to go out and game them on the course. Aka, dig your ball out of the woods.

Oh no it wasn’t this one range session that did it. I always knew I would be victorious, this one range session just solidified it. Anyone wanting to bet on a winning horse just jump on over and I’ll lead you to victory.

Being overly confident can be your downfall... Remember be and play confident not Cocky.. Last year @fozcycle  turned out to be the quiet assassin, and took the win.. Humbling @Joyzee10, @MDGolfHacker,  @HardcoreLooper, and myself in the process...

Driver/fairway wood pictures came yesterday, today is all about the hybrids.

Hybrids are a very difficult club for me to fit.  Like a lot of golfers I have a tendency to hook them like crazy on my mishits.  For the last 5 years I've gamed a 3 and 4 Ping i25 hybrid.  Before this contest came up there was no way I was looking to replace them in my bag.

On Cobra's website they mention Speed and and Maximum Distance in their hybrid descriptions about 7,000 times  Does that mean I'll hit my hybrid 250 but hook it 25 yards left of the green?  Time will tell!

Another fear I have is how large the clubhead is.  Cobra states that "A larger clubhead profile increases MOI", but these border on fairway wood size rather than iron replacements.  Here's a KING F9 Speedback Hybrid compared to my current i25.

On looks I give it hands down to the i25 for the smaller size alone (it seems even larger in person than the picture shows).  Hopefully the Cobra can outshine the Ping in performance.

From what I can tell, @fozcycle just hit the course with a goal in mind and let his clubs do the talking.

In this Pre-Chatter stage, it's difficult to follow that example without clubs. 

Also, when this has been the weather situation for what feels like the last 2 months, it's difficult to just shut up and play.

I don't want to take away from your post, but do you have turf in your house? or are those range photos? So Jelly if its turf/putting surface. ha

As the only participant that didn't get hybrids, I'm curious to see how they perform for you. I hit them a few times during my fitting sessions, and I was not getting the numbers that my fitter was looking for to fill in the gaps at the top of my bag.

That comparison photo to the i25 is jarring. I did not expect it to be that extreme of a difference. Perhaps that is why I was struggling with them in my fitting.

It's a 12 foot long Big Moss Golf putting green.  Normally keep it in the basement but brought it upstairs next to a sunny window for the club pictures.  Thought that would look better than tan carpet.

Yep, so jealous it hurts...

As far as the Hybrids go, I am at a bit of an advantage I suppose in this regard having only ever hit one which was a friend of mines to see how it felt, and that was a year ago. So I don't have any preconceived notions about size or issues with it at address. I will say it looks pretty sharp to me though. I ran out of time towards the end of the fitting session and just went with what the fitter  recommended for gapping based on what he was seeing with everything else. We will find out soon enough how much I like it!

My current USGA handicap is 5.4. My Arccos handicap after four very wet spring rounds is 8.5. That’s fairly typical of my spring play. After 4-6 months of winter I always struggle a bit in the spring with rust and very wet course conditions. My best rounds always seem to come in mid-June to August.

Sorry, I should have made myself clearer. I was just heckling @bardle for having a 4 driving handicap but still shooting 102.

This is still good info to have, it seems like Arccos is calculating you handicap much more accurately than the others. You have a nice steady game with no apparent flaws.
