so it's apparently mid 40's and wet thick rough as of yesterday, is that the continued forecast anyone know?
If it is I might change my picks

Rained until late last night and more rain and cold today at my house which is 15 minutes from Bethpage. More rain overnight tonight and possible rain on Friday.

Every time I play Bethpage, I’m shocked at how hard it is to advance the ball from the rough. I have no inside information on the setup, but I will be surprised if guys will be able to score when missing the fairway.

Not having played Bethpage and knowing nothing about how it's set up, I will offer a comment from my observations when the web.com (Hogan, Nike, buy.com, Nationwide) tour players came to town and played a tournament at our local country club.  I've played the course many times and the rough has always been thick and difficult (for me) to get out of.  For the tournament they let the grass grow until you can't see your feet standing in it. The pros got out of it just fine!!  Certainly not as well as they might have liked, but I was impressed!  These guys are good!!

It’s just gross out right now. Same in Upstate, NY we’ve had one day of sun in the past ten.

Thanks, changed my pick and will now change my final score down to -7. Saw a European Tour guy say today he had to hit 5w into 4 par 4's today it's playing that long.

I had thought about doing the same, but I figure if one of the longer guys can keep it in the fairway, they can still go fairly low.

Y'all are not doing summer right, haha! Sounds like the weather is going to be the great equalize the first couple days at least. Will be interesting to see which players rises to the occasion!

It has done nothing but rain since mid March. I think Mother Nature has been on a bender.

And for some reason I just agreed to play Bethpage Black next Sunday from the tips as a par 70. Breaking 90 is going to be a struggle and if I break 80 I am quitting the game.

Haha....good luck!  I was one over thru 3 from the whites several years ago and shot around 110 if I recall.  I pulled driver on 2 of the par 3's and still came up short.  If you break 80 after all this rain I'll quit too!

Moving the PGA Championship to May means weather (other than just hot, humid with T-storms) will be more of a factor.

I expect that the PGA will play some rounds at less than the tips because of the soft conditions.

My low round there from the tips is 72 and I almost retired after that round. The setup for a major is a lot different and with the rain it is going to play a lot longer than the card shows. If I can get through the front nine even or one over then I have a good shot. The back 9 is just holding on for dear life. 15 is one of the most brutal golf holes I have ever played.

Okay, I take it back.  I'm not quitting if you break 80.  I know you have the game but boy is that a tough course.

ahh makes sense, must be an English/US way of saying things. Next Sunday is the first Sunday coming up, a week on Sunday is our (correct😋) terminology..........Good luck, please post how you get on, with pics if possible for all us spies who will never ever get to play it.

I was looking over the hole by hole description of BPB and #15 looks like an absolute BEAST. Anyone know of a good site that has a flyover of each hole?
