Cracked Driver

I was playing in an outing yesterday and noticed these lines on the face of my driver. It wasn’t going as far and definitely sounded different.

 

I want to see what others think. Is this cracked?

The camera just doesn't pick up what you're seeing. Can you edit the photo with a circle around the area you're talking about?

I guess it is. Can you feel it with your fingernail for example? However, you said it sounded differently and distance was off. I'd send it in. As thin as faces have become it's a wonder that they last as well as they do.

Looks cracked to me - and the symptoms you described match my experience when a face starts to go.

If it is a crack, contact TM directly and they should be very helpful in replacing it. I had a similar experience with Cobra and they even upgraded the head at no cost

the more I practice, the luckier I seem to get..

My club pro agreed it is cracked. I got it through club champion and they have already submitted a warranty to Taylormade. So customer service is great so far.

Do you recall that happening after a high hit toward the crown?  Whenever I see a half pattern of dimples at the top, I fear a result like this 😱.  It's nice that so many of today's equipment mfg's offer such great warranty service.

Sounds like you're taken care of already, but you can also stick the head in a bucket of water and see if it bubbles if it ever happens again.

I just dealt with TM warranty on my M2 irons and the are great. I asked for the P790'S as a upgrade and they P760's! It was fairly painless process
