Our group is going to Scottsdale early September. We are scheduled to play the following courses:

Talking Stick...Rancho Manana...GC of Estrella...Dove Valley Ranch...Point Lookout Mountain

We want to drop one and play the TPC Stadium. Any comments on the courses scheduled and which would you drop to play TPC.

Thanks!

My, you are covering a lot of Phoenix!!  Ranch Mañana is short, about 6000y but it is a par 70 so holes are decent distances.  If that's not an issue, I would drop Lookout Mountain.  It has a few, what I would call quirky, holes that are played better after playing them a few times.  Enjoy the TPC; I've played it several times, but always in the summer when rates are cheaper.

We don’t stop playing the game because we get old; we get old because we stop playing the game.”

I have played them all multiple times. If it is a guys trip for fun you will have a blast at talking stick. The course is average but the casino next door is a great place to hang out and Top Golf is a block away. GC of Estrella is a great track, the Pointe is fun and has some good holes and views of the city. Dove Valley is nice with some good holes, Rancho Manana is a bit quirky at times but has some good views as well, short course. I would probably drop Rancho Manana. For the price of the TPC you could play Troon North, way better course. The TPC is fun just play where the pros play, but Troon North is the top dog. Check the over-seed schedules, courses out here begin to close mid September to October. I know the Pointe was late September last year as well as One of the Talking Stick Courses. The Verrado Victory and Founders courses in Buckeye are great as well as Quintero out by Lake Pleasant. Something to check out. Any questions let me know. Enjoy the trip!

Thanks for the info. We'll be there first week of Sept before seeding. Just a group of 20 friends (mostly seniors) from around the country, handicaps all over the place, just playing for fun.
