Been having fun playing around with a design your own putter applet at Lajosi Golf Australia.

As a result, been trying to fine a summary of each face mill type... What does deeper milling mean, the concentric waves vs straight mill etc.

Any guides out there?

No real guides on milling. Milling impacts the sound/feel of the putter; along with other factors. Deeper milling means less face contact with the ball so it generally provides a softer feel than the same putter with no milling. Most people pick milling because of how it looks.

There are some milling patterns that are designed to influence speed control like the Evnroll and ping grooves.

Some market that it influences the ball roll, but I am not 100% sold on that aspect of grooves.
