perseveringgolfer
Welcome back @Sluggo42 beautiful clubs. I'm getting more and more tempted to go back to blades (last blades were the Mizuno MP69's and only changed to more forgiving SC 18's due to an illness) The 'blades' these days I think will be 'slightly' more forgiving than 10 yrs ago and you cannot beat the sound and feel from a sweetspot iron. On the flipside a mis-hit in cold weather sends vibrations thru your arms and body like a cartoon character being hit with an iron bar Maybe they'll be an MGS testing opportunity coming up with blades this year MaxEntropy 1 Quote Driver Awaiting NEW Driver (after 10 yrs) 4 Wood Callaway Big Bertha Steelhead plus 4+ Callaway shaft in 'Firm' flex Hybrid Titleist 910H 19* Diamana ahina 'flower' shaft in 'S' Irons Mizuno MP18SC 4-PW N.S Pro Modus3 Tour 105 in 'S' Wedges Callaway Mack Daddy forged in black 50* and 54* KBS Tour in 'R' Putter 'YES' Tracy 11 C groove 34.5"

Not absolutely positive yet, because they just punched and sanded our greens a week ago, but they were stopping super quickly yesterday. And my greens are hard and fast, so I really need some serious stopping power. I never was really happy with my p790’s spin, but they were long, but I found myself setting up to hit shorter shots to let them run out to the hole. I’ll need a few more rounds to get used to these. The 790’s on the smacwrap recoils were soft feeling due to the shaft and foam filled head, and the mizzies are a completely different softness. i also went back to 115g steel stiff flex shafts vs the 82g reg flex recoil graphite. Hoping my elbow problems don’t return or I may have to transplant some recoils into these heads. Now that would create some serious softness eh? Nursing elbow pain as well but struggled moving from steel to graphite. I should be a perfect candidate for irons like the 790s as I am starting to lose distance. I just think I do not spin the ball enough to play them successfully.

The srixon combo was so tempting, but I need more spin, and when these fell into my lap it was a done deal. I was seriously going to look at the sub70’s, but the blades were too busy on the back so the looks didn’t work with me. I’m really just so in love with these mizzy irons it’s funny, but they’re making some really nice shots for me, although you are still required to hit them well, which I don’t always do... but, when you do, the feeling is just too good. side note, the sub70 wedges are really, really good. If I'm not gutting it, I'm skying it. Seriously, having now 3 wedges in the bag is making me flip out on the short game. Not having been a wedge player for over 30 years, I knew this might be an issue. Lots more range time needed to get the G410 W, UW, and the Glide dialed in .
