So Steph Curry is widely regarded as probably the best shooter in the NBA and he went to Davidson.

Well...this kid from Davidson just shot a 57 in the third round of a tournament... 30/27.

How about this for the first 3 rounds - 75, 73, 57.... and is now in 9th place.

I saw other people make this comment already, but (semi-)seriously: if you shoot a 57, don't you just walk off the course and never come back again? "Thanks golf, it's been fun, I won."

He did have a few pars; there is still room for improvement. 54 has been considered to be the “perfect” round.

My brother lives in the Davidson area.  He says Ross is a very good player (obviously) as well as a great kid.

Coincidentally, a local high school kid heading to the University of Georgia in the fall is tied with Ross at -11 - T-9.  Kid can absolutely golf his ball.  Looking forward to seeing what he can do at the college level.  An interesting fact about this kid, he was on a travel baseball team with Georgetown (and internet sensation) basketball player Mac McClung, Elon basketball player Zac Ervin, Florida State baseball player Cade Hungate, East Carolina baseball player Thomas Francisco, South Carolina golfer Andrew Spiegler, and Virginia Tech football player James Mitchell.  What a collection of athletes on one 13-14 year old baseball team!
