Yeah, my irons really surprised me.  So Nunfa, what is the biggest difference between your Mizunos and the Cobras?

So far they both feel amazing when you middle them and feel similar in miss hits. The Mizunos apparently sound "softer". The biggest difference so far is the Cobras stay straighter and fly further on miss hits. I hit one shot that felt like a high toe so I walked to where it would have been if it was the Mizuno and it wasn't there. I followed the same line and it was 40 yards further on 😵😁😎

I hope you don't make this many excuses for your golf game.

No excuses, the forum wants 8 weeks of great golf, hard competition, solid testing, excellent banter not 1 minute of laughing at an unfit middle aged man trying to look impressive and then 8 weeks of me crying about rupturing something and having to withdraw from the challenge 😭

Actually how about I make a deal with you all. If I win this challenge I will do a haka. How's that? #ohcrapwhathaveidone

Well spotted. I did use the Cobras but it was before the official start and I wasn't tracking the clubs with Arccos. The screen grab is from the NZ Golf site.

So it's apparent that you are a fast starter and then fade away, maybe if you practiced more dancing your stamina would increase 🤣

Wow. 289. Is that real? I think in New Zealand golf must be different...

After further review I don't see a single par 4 over 400 yards... Are you playing mini golf out there?

They appear in the back nine but trust me a great hole doesn't need to be long to be difficult 😁 The 289 yard hole is real risk and reward stuff and when the right wind blows it plays more like 360

Headed out in a few minutes for my regular Saturday game. Hoping for 36 today. It’ll be my first recorded round at my home course. Spent 2 hours on the range yesterday afternoon, feeling good today.

I want (need) to hear the F9 is stunning, a beast, easy to hit, goes miles, off centre hits still get out there, hit every fairway etc etc😃🏌️‍♂️

Played a round today at a beautiful course. Metamora Golf & Country Club. Greens were in the best shape of any course I’ve played in Michigan this year. Very firm and fast.

Really happy with my front 9. Although a triple bogey on 9 hurt. Starting the back 9 with a triple bogey wasn’t great either. Three putting 5 times hurt. There is plenty of opportunity to go lower with less mental errors.

The F9’s are not an issue at all. If you make the right decisions and take a relatively decent swing, the results are fantastic. I am really impressed with the shots that I’ve been able to execute with these clubs. Cannot wait for more time on the course, and maybe some time practicing to find out how low I can go.

I was issued a challenge today that I'd be curious on passing onto you guys.  Would any of you consider leaving all of your woods at home and playing a full 18 with irons, wedges, and putter only?  I know it's a full bag test, but I'd be curious on truly putting these irons through their paces.

Not a bad idea but we'll see what happens after next week.  Right now I have 27 holes scheduled for Thursday, 18 for Friday, and 18 more for Saturday.  I may try to sneak in a quick 9 before work earlier in the week so I can make it a full 72 holes.  I call it my fozcycle week.

Now that sounds like fun!

Here’s my round from earlier. Driving was obviously great and chipping was about my normal. Putting was terrible, and the sand was only one shot in the sand, one shot to get out and 2 putt. Don’t know why the sand handicap is so much. Approach stat is pretty accurate for today’s round, missed a lot short due to hitting them heavy. That 2 hours on the range yesterday was mainly with driver to get it dialed in, that seemed to work nice. IMG_0456.JPG

Check Arccos for that hole, it judges you based on how close to the hole you got it from the bunker. If the first putt you took after that bunker shot was from like 60' you'll see a big number.

Also check the pin positions. This is, of course, if you really care about it giving you accurate breakdowns.

I try to remember to move the pins on Arccos, but I forget a lot. Then when I get home I can’t remember where the hole was. Need to do a better job of that.

I try to remember to move the pins on Arccos, but I forget a lot. Then when I get home I can’t remember where the hole was. Need to do a better job of that.

It's hard to get in the habit of doing that with Arccos, especially if you're concerned about holding a group up. Now I try to walk up to the flag, hold my phone up to it, and press mark at current location. I probably look like an idiot doing it, but it works!

I usually laser the pin for my approach shot and then will change it on Arccos before I hit if someone else is away or right after I hit as I walk up to the green.  I'll try to remember to double check the pin placement when I get to the green but that way it's at least mostly accurate if I forget to check the pin again.

I was issued a challenge today that I'd be curious on passing onto you guys.  Would any of you consider leaving all of your woods at home and playing a full 18 with irons, wedges, and putter only?  I know it's a full bag test, but I'd be curious on truly putting these irons through their paces.

That sounds like a lot of fun.  It may not work out perfectly with the challenges we have lined up already but we could maybe try something similar to this one of the weeks.

That's why I'm excited for Link! Supposedly, it will have a button on it like the one on your phone, that you can press to mark the pin placement. Stand by the pin, press the button, go mark your ball! Easyyyyyyy.
