But as of this point in the contest, which club has not lived up to expectations and would be the first to be put on the bench? Also is there a club choice that you wish you would have made instead (ex: extra hybrid instead of an iron, or additional fairway wood versus a hybrid, etc.)? So this is not a club that has not lived up to expectations per se, but it's a club I just haven't used yet. My 5w. I do not have a single registered shot with it. There has not been a time on the course where I have needed it. I'm not sure if it is due to my comfort level with the 5i, or just the yardages don't call for it. We shall see. It's been an absolute beast for me on the tee box and the fairway. Haven't tried it too much from the rough yet. 1 hour ago, Darush87 said: Do you prefer a rangefinder or a GPS device to calculate distance? Which device is your favorite? I have a Bushnell Tour V4 rangefinder and a Garmin Approach G3 GPS (plus Arccos on my phone). If I'm playing a round at my home course I don't even bother starting up the GPS. I know all of the layup distances and only need the rangefinder to get the exact pin locations. If it's a new course the GPS is probably more beneficial. 54 minutes ago, JohnSmalls said: For those of you that came from "less forgiving" and more spinning/higher lofted irons, have you noticed a difference in your shot making ability when you decide not to take a full swing, or have you noticed a drop in spin to the point that the ball runs through a green when you swing less than a full swing? The F9 irons are long, high, and straight. They are harder to shape around trees and other obstructions, but I'll take that trade-off knowing most of my shots will be online. Haven't noticed any loss in spin around the greens. My favorite shot with the new irons is a half or 3/4 swing Pitching Wedge that bounces once and stops on a dime. Puma is really hitting it out of the park with the clothing they are sending this year. Nunfa0 and Bucky CC are correct with the main thing. If you are married or in a relationship, make sure that your significant other understands how much time you will be spending at the range, course, and on the forum. Having their support really helps. Secondly, be ready to be humbled. Golf humbles us all, but Arccos is another level. The honest data that you see after a round is incredibly helpful, but if you have played like crap the system shows you why. Over and over and over until you stop playing like crap. Third, and this probably goes for all testing opportunities, but understand that this is not about you. This is an opportunity to serve the members of the forum, not to get equipment. Being selected means that you need to be reasonably accessible, engaging, and thoughtful. I'm lucky to be in the challenge with four great guys.
