I'm in the same boat as you @robertson153. I am using the Callaway Rogue exclusively and the F9 doesn't come out to play anymore.

The rest of the lineup is secure in my bag and I don't foresee any changes to that. I'm really enjoying my rounds on the course and the extra confidence that this set gives me.

I was on a golf trip this past weekend and there were multiple times where I would look at the intended landing spot and just know that I had that shot. The clubs give me an extra boost of confidence in situations that would have scared me before.

I have to agree about the confidence factor. I've never had irons that I have trusted like this before. I really can laser the pin, pick the club for the number and know it will be right.

  • 4 weeks later...

Thought I would dust this thread off for an update.

I have been "tinkering" with my driver (and maybe my swing) and trying some new settings. Having put the heavy weight to the front for a low spin setting I then thought I would drop from 10.5* to 9* to see what would happen. Well that experiment lasted 2 weeks. All I could do was hit fades and cuts with the occasional huge hook. My driving went down the toilet and so did my scores 😭. So I finally put it back to 10.5* and BAM my draw was back baby😁😎. It's amazing to me how such a small change can have such big ramifications to your game. It also re enforces to me that we should leave the tinkering to the experts, get fitted and leave it alone!!

You guys were onto something with the F9.  It has been an accuracy hog.  I have loved it since it has been in the bag.  I have tried both an Evenflow black and the stock Atmos Blue, with varying degrees of success.  When my swing is on and I can get after it, the Evenflow is a great shaft.  At the moment, though, it has taken a back seat to the Atmos and I think that may ring true for the duration.  Tour spec model is almost perfect at 44.5".

I would share some Arccos stats, but arccos as been anything but reliable for the past few weeks.  When I first started all was great with a small learning curve, had my apple watch rocking in place of shot scope.  Out of the blue, the apple watch combo won't track the whole round.  In fact, it recorded shots on 9 of 18 holes my last time out(1-8, 18) and missed shots on those 9 holes (yes, my phone was in my pocket).

Now onto the Pumas, these are without a doubt the best golf shoes I have ever had on my feet.  The ignite foam is holding up extremely well, even with walking most of my rounds.  Even the occasional jog hasn't depleted the foam.  The rubber soles grip the heck out of the turf with 0 slipping in wet and dry condition.  They have kept my feet bone dry in morning rounds and they still look relatively brand new.  On top of all of that, they provide very good support throughout the swing.  I cannot recommend these shoes enough.

My Arccos is still working really well but I have worn out my putter sensor (the replacement is winging its way over the Pacific) 😭

I’m very disappointed in it right now.  However I really like the presentation of the stats much better than ShotScope.  I’m hoping Arccos will start working properly soon so I can give it a proper head to head against ShotScope.

@JohnSmalls I'm hearing more and more from people that Arccos is giving people issues. I have been fortunate that I haven't experienced them yet, but that could be due to the fact that I'm in offseason mode now with the weather in MI.

I wonder if something happened with Apple pushed the new update and Arccos hasn't been able to adapt to it yet.

I really hope the update is the source of the problem.  I haven't been able to play as frequently as I did in May-July (or as I would like),  so the frustration increases more and more because it is taking more time to get out and play.

I stopped using my Arccos shortly after our contest ended.  It was nice to finally play a few rounds without having to look at my phone every hole to make sure shots were captured and the pin was moved to the correct location.  I have an Arccos Link on pre-order so I'll probably wait to pick it up again until that gets shipped next spring.

I probably only have one round left this year.  Recently the high temps have been stuck in the 40's with frost on the ground in the early mornings.  My last round of the year is scheduled for Nov 2nd in a Cross Country Shoot-Out.  They turn the 18 hole golf course into a 9 hole, 6000 yard par 52 course.  It's a little strange cutting across holes to play different greens but it was a ton of fun last year.  Hopefully it doesn't snow that day.

While I’m sure it wouldn’t work, that would be amazing to see some Arccos hope recap of that event. Looks like so much fun!

Idea Fairy: Just to test them out, do you mind submitting that to Arccos to see if they can create a course for the event? They claim that all they need to create a course is a scorecard.

@JohnSmalls - When the weather's right and there's no natural snow on the ground, Wintergreen in VA has been known to do a deal where you can combine morning greens fees on their course at the bottom of the hill with a twilight lift ticket.  I've definitely had ski days there where I wished I'd brought my clubs instead.  There's a reason they don't call the place Winterwhite.

I sent an email to starter@arccosgolf.com to see if they could do a special tee selection for the 9 hole cross country event.  I'll let you all know if they can do anything for the event.

Guy's I'm glad to see that you guys are keeping "most" of your Cobra's in the bag.. I have never played more consistent golf in my life than I have with my Cobra's. I did not feel I played as much this year as in the past, but still got in 22 rounds from May through Sept. and I only went over 90 twice. Once involved several adult beverages.. so that doesn't count right??? Anyhow I still love every Cobra club in my bag. Combined with the Srixon Z-star I have not even thought about changes to my set-up.. Weellllll maybe a little...

Arccos responded back saying they would have a hard time adding in our Cross Country tee box since it does not have an official course rating or slope.  Oh well.

In other news 4-6" of snow is forecasted for today.  It's the largest snowfall ever recorded in the Milwaukee area for Halloween (previous record was 0.4" so this is very unusual even for us).  So far we've had about 2-3" fall.

I'm happy to see these thread still chugging along.  I gave up on Arccos last year and am close to giving up on my Garmin watch shot tracking.  For me I really just don't care about my stats and how far I hit each club.  I already have a pretty good idea of that.  I get why some people do which is great but I feel just looking at my watch for yardage has freed up my game if that makes any sense.

@Wedgie I'm curious as to what you mean by "freed up my game"

Is it something like you have a baseline of data from Arccos and Garmin, now you are able to set those devices aside and use that information to make better decisions on the course, or is it that your mind on the course is no longer wondering if the shot was picked up and your focus can be purely on the task at hand because you are no longer using those devices?

I think freed up my mind would have been a better way to put it.  With Arccos I was always on my phone fixing misses.  With the watch I have to tag each shot which isn't a huge deal but that was where my mind always was.  I have since turned off all tracking functions on the watch and just enter fairways hit, putts and score after each hole.  I like having tracking available for new clubs but other than that I just play golf now and don't worry about what each clubs does.  It has helped my scoring a little but helped my fun factor a ton.

Well they just made it official; the 2019 Cross Country Turkey Shoot-Out has been cancelled.  Apparently they didn't want to open up the course when there is 6" of snow on the ground.  What a bunch of snowflakes (pun intended).  ❄️

Unfortunately it looks like my outdoor golf season is finished.  Thankfully there have been quite a few indoor simulators to open recently so there will be plenty of options to swing over the winter.

Arccos is really starting to be a source of frustration more often than it is a benefit.

The growing pains took a minute to adjust to, from keeping my phone in my front pocket, to setting the pin and the different screen views on my apple watch.  But that's no big deal, it is something that I can and did get used to fairly quickly.  During the adaptation phase, the system worked flawlessly.  Pairing up with a new course, watch/phone synchronization, everything worked smoothly.

Roughly a month later I start to notice a few hiccups.  First, the phone/watch sync stopped its smooth operation.  Part of that was mistakenly walking too far away from my phone, but then I had similar sync problems keeping my phone in my pocket (phone/watch not pairing, showing info for two different holes, watch losing connection with Arccos, etc.).  Further along the road, I have had rounds that have completely missed recording entire holes.  Lastly, we just had a Pinehurst trip at work a week ago--playing Pinehurst No.5--Arccos had the course mapped--but every number from every hole played was hundreds of yards incorrect.  I am holding out hope, trying to be patient with Arccos so that I can post a well documented comparison review between Arccos and Shotscope, but I am let down almost everytime I try to use Arccos now.

Wow, you are having some issues. I suppose I should add a warning to my review that I mainly play at just one course. However I still haven't had the same issues when I do venture away from home. Funny thing is I'm using the android system that used to cause all of the issues but has almost been flawless for me. Maybe it's because I'm so far away and there are so few Arccos users here that it works better 🤔 Yes I know that's ridiculous but I'm just spitballing here 😎😁
