MGoBlue100
I don't, but I'm curious as well. When I was selected for the Bridgestone Tour B JGR club review last year, i really wanted to try the Modus shafts, but could not find anywhere to demo a set of similar club heads to get some numbers. I'm not gaming the KBS C Tapers, but am gaming the KBS Tour shafts in my older Mizunos as well as the Bridgestone JGR's. Quote "Where'd it go?" "Right in the Lumberyard..." PMookie
Totally different feel, and the C-Taper Lite launches higher for me. The Modus have always felt so much “smoother” to me. My favorite shaft I’ve ever used. I had C-Taper Lite in my Edel irons. They were ok, but I seemed to struggle with consistency.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro MGoBlue100 1 Quote Driver: Ping G430 Max 9*, Ping Tour 70X Fairway: Ping G425 15*, Ping Tour 70X Hybrid: Ping G425 22*, Ping Tour 80X Irons: Ping i230 4-GW, TT DG X100 Wedges: SMS 50D/54V/58DModus 130 stiff, +1” Putter: EAS 1.0 Ball: Titleist 2023 AVX Link to comment
palvord
I don't have any experience with the Modus, but I am really enjoying the C-Taper Lite in my Cobras. It's only been a few rounds, but they launch smooth and high for me. BJMDO
I would agree with a lot of what has been said. The Modus shafts have an incredible feel. I game the C-taper Lites. While I like the results I get, they do not feel nearly as good as the Modus. I was getting too much spin with the Modus in my fitting. dhartmann34
I had the ctl in a set of pings for 3 years and I liked it. It launched at a moderate to high angle for me. Spin was middle range. Feel was just okay. Hitting it in multiple irons, the modus is more mid launching and will give you a little less spin. Feel is good. That being said, I've noticed that they do differ in performance based on the iron head. Best option will be to check your numbers on a launch monitor based on whichever had you are choosing. ballplayer002003
My last set had the C-taper and I am now in the Modus. Both are good shafts but the Modus is a much smoother shaft during transition. I would however tell you that the Modus is a bit softer in flex so you may want to try to play a stiffer shaft then you normally do. I was in a stiff with the C-taper, and now I am in the X-stiff for Modus. Ball flight is a bit higher with the Modus as well. This was something I was looking for. I did not lose any distance either. I would tell you to hit both, but I would guess the Modus may be the one you like better.
