perseveringgolfer
Now that's a great video @GolfSpy Barbajo what great memories to keep and share. I love St Andrews. Pot bunkers? Several - got out okay (cousin had a few issues), but the ones in the fairway really impede your progress. Gorse - nasty shit - if you're in, fuggehdaboudit....you're done. I lost one on the Jubilee course. It was nasty. Favorites? Hard to say anything was grander than the Old Course - it was a treat. Kingsbarns and Castle were magnificent - although the greens at the Castle were kind of silly. For a hidden gem, Lundin Links was awesome -- and inexpensive by comparison. Alzoinnv
Perseveringgolfer, Thanks for the advice, I even have zippered legs pants my wife bought me, little does she know I won't wear them, but I'll bring em and tell her they were great! perseveringgolfer
when you visit in July it should be warm, not Vegas warm but around 65*-70* perfect golf weather. Plus with our daylight you can play up till about 11PM which can be a magical time on the course, wind dies down and you can hear a blade of grass break. Then you get up and can play again from about 5am, which is also magical with the dew, birds singing and only the sound of your Prov1 hitting the sweetspot of your driver. You'll love St Andrews, it oozes golf in every pub and cafe, the Old course is like a wizard going to Hogwartz for the first time- Magical. The Jubilee is probably the hardest test and the New course is the nicest (IMO). You playing the Castle course and Kingsbarnes? again two really fun courses to play. I'm actually jealous, even though I live here silver & black 1 Quote Driver Awaiting NEW Driver (after 10 yrs) 4 Wood Callaway Big Bertha Steelhead plus 4+ Callaway shaft in 'Firm' flex Hybrid Titleist 910H 19* Diamana ahina 'flower' shaft in 'S' Irons Mizuno MP18SC 4-PW N.S Pro Modus3 Tour 105 in 'S' Wedges Callaway Mack Daddy forged in black 50* and 54* KBS Tour in 'R' Putter 'YES' Tracy 11 C groove 34.5"
Alf. S
St Andrews has about 13 courses Old, New and Jubilee are the more established the Castle is newer out by Kingsbarnes or even the Fairmont courses all are good tracks. But I prefer Ladybank, Downfield, or as Barbajo has said Lundin Links they have all been used as Open qualifiers and are members coursesSent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy Quote WIMB Driver Callaway Epic 10.5' Fujikura Stiff 3W Callaway Epic 15' Fujikura Stiff 3-AW Srixon Z565 Nippon Stiff 52', 56' Cleveland RTX 585 Wedges Putter Taylormade Rosa Daytona Bags 2017 Callaway Org14 Cart bag or 2018 Srixon Z start Carry bag

Alzoinnv
So we are 8 days from heading to Dublin (Old head, Portmarnok and The European Club) we have a day to hit up an extra round when we get in any suggestions for a unexpected experience? Also the same for 4 days later we have a day or two to throw in another 18 so any ideas for the St Andrews area (we are staying at Scores Hotel). Thanks everyone. To use a local expression, you'll be spoilt for choice around St Andrews. From my personal experience, any of the following would be great additions: Elie, Crail Balcomie, Lundin Links, Panmure. All good courses, all reasonably priced. If you want something really different, you could try hickory golf at Kingarrock: https://www.nts.org.uk/Kingarrock-Hickory-Golf/Booking/Booking-And-Green-Fees/ For a nice meal in town, make a reservation for the Locker Room at the Russell Hotel, just up the Scores from your own hotel.
