fixyurdivot
I have a couple of questions for fellow SC200 users on the forum. First, what is your typical battery life? I use Duracell's. Does anyone use rechargeables? My second question concerns data on higher lofted irons and whether you have issues with more frequent missed data capture or think the carry yardage looks incorrect? edingc
I don't have a hard number on typical battery life, but usually at least 10-12 45 minute range sessions? Probably more. I think I've changed the batteries three times since getting it in December. Obviously didn't use it much until April/May. I use Amazon Basics batteries, they seem decent enough with battery life, are cheap, and get delivered in one day. I keep an extra set of four in the box with me in case they die during a range session (which I had happen not long ago). We have a recycle bin for batteries at my employer so I drop the old ones in there. Regarding higher lofted irons -- the highest loft I have used is my 54 degree wedge. Carry distance seems pretty accurate. Tuesday at the range I carried a handful of pretty full 54 wedges 100-ish yards (98-105) according to the SC200. Had a 98-yard shot (per my laser) yesterday, pulled the 54 and with a full swing landed it pin high. Every now and then I get an outlier result from almost any club, but it's very rare. Overall, I've been extremely happy and impressed with the SC200. fixyurdivot 1 Quote Unofficial WHS Handicap: 7.5 / Anti-Cap: 13.0 (Last Updated Feb. 19, 2024) Driver: Callaway Paradym TD (10.5°, -1/N), 45.75", Fujikura Motore X F1 6X | Fitting Post 3 Wood: Cobra RadSpeed Big Tour (14.5°), 43", Fujikura Motore X F1 7X 20° Hybrid: PXG 0211 (2020 Model), 40.25", Mitsubishi Tensei AV RAW White 90X 4 Utility: Cobra KING Utility (2020 Model), 38.5", Aerotech SteelFiber i110cw Stiff 5-PW: Ben Hogan PTx Pro, 37" 7 Iron, Aerotech SteelFiber i125cw Stiff | Club Champion Fitting 50°, 54°, 58°: Edel SMS, V Grind, Nippon Modus 125 Wedge| Official Review Thread Putter: L.A.B. fixyurdivot
Thanks. I'm really impressed with this device overall and still learning a bit about its functions. Yesterday, the low battery indication came on and, after taking a brief break and turning it back on, showed near full charge...only to indicate low after about 15 minutes. I'll start with a fresh set and keep track of on time. I was just wondering what others are experiencing. I try to keep the device the recommended distance behind the ball and as in-line as possible. The range I usually go to has accurate flag distances and I'll be able double check readings. edingc
It might be my imagination, but I've noticed most of my poor readings on days where the sun was coming down directly on the unit. I don't use the approach setting enough. But the general carry distances have definitely helped dial in my game. I keep track of distances and have "good swing," "poor swing," and "flushed" distances stored in my head/phone.
