This is an absolute thrill, I'm excited to get this started! I've never used a laser before, just phone apps and an older Garmin watch I picked up used, so this is going to be a neat experience as a f

My Nexus gets more use on the range then the course, especially when we are restricted to using the cart path only. If I am already shlepping 2 or 3 clubs out to the ball I don’t want to be carrying the Nexus as well. It also may require more than one shot to get the distance thanks in part to my slight handshake when holding it combined with the slightly wobbly optics. This is where the Garmin Approach G30 comes into play. When conditions are more favourable I use the Nexus more, and it always comes out on the range where the Garmin is useless.

There can be quite a discrepancy in distance between the two devices. It would be very interesting to compare the two range finders against each other.

Currently use a Bushnell V2 (non-slope) which I purchased second-hand off of craigslist a couple years back to help me out caddying. Currently I am running into some issues though with the lack of slope functionality seeing as the course I caddy and play at has eight holes with +/- 15 yards of incline or decline. I use the rangefinder a ton for any shot between 90 and 230 yards. I run through batteries with the rangefinder using it for about 8 rounds a week (4 caddying and about another 4 playing). I have actually been looking around at the other sloped options for rangefinders the past couple of weeks but haven't pulled the trigger yet. Hopefully a sloped rangefinder can help me drop my index into the single figures by the end of the year (started at a 20 index, down to 13.1, hoping to go into single figures).

Hayden / Palmerston North.

Yes, I currently use a rangefinder.

Precision Pro NX7 rangefinder. Just changed from golf buddy.

I have tried a lot of different ones. Would be the ideal tester to give good honest feedback - if selected

Tom, Ho Chi Minh City Vietnam.

I don’t currently have a rangefinder. I usually use yardage sticks or 18 birdies to track distance. I would be interested to test one to see how much I can improve my game. I’m glad to see you are offering up this opportunity to people around the world! I would have loved to participate in some of your other review opportunities only available in the states.

Testers Wanted (7)

Anyone that has read or better yet tried one of the previous versions of the Precision Pro rangefinders knows a couple things for sure.   The company is very customer oriented, responding to any manor of questions promptly and efficiently.   It's very first iteration of range finders—nexus- was among the least expensive on the market, but didn't  meet with a huge success.   Enter the NX7 series, and it's award winning performance in Most Wanted testing, and Precision Pro had a winner on it's hand, a very reliable, accurate rangefinder priced in the $200 to $250 range, with many comprable competitors sellingn for $350 to $450.   Precision Pro held it's own in the land of the established icon brands.

So with a product firmly entrenched in the value category, Precision Pro is introducing the next level of rangefinder for company.  The NX9 offers an HD display to an already quality product.   To find out all the tech behind it, you can read The First Look articles published earlier this spring Precision Pro Nx9 First Look

So  we are offering seven US or members from anywhere in the world, the chance to test/review and keep a NX9 HD rangefinder.  Golfspy_MPR  will  be riding shotgun along with the testers on this as you, write a very through review for the forum, and provide ongoing thoughts during the review period in the review thread.

I have been using Leupold 4I3 for about 3 years. I also use a Bushnell Ghost as a supplement at times when blind shots are required.

Pete from Tucson

I have never used a rangefinder. I either walk off my yardage or eyeball as best I can.

I would love to to try one and am currently researching one to buy. Would love to give my feedback on this one.

Thanks

I am John from Toronto Canada.

I currently use a Bushnell Yardage Pro Sport which was originally made for hunting, not golf.  Thus, it does not have any kind of ability to lock onto a small target (e.g. "pinseeker").  It does work and is very useful for distance to front and back of green, hazards, etc. but not great at pins unless they are  <150 yards or so.  Old technology, I know, I obtained it around 2010 or so.

Other times, I end up using GPS on the phone, or just good old fashioned 150 yard markers, sprinkler heads and the like.

I would definitely jump at the chance to test some newer technology.  Thanks!
