acfire 1
1. Tony, Chicago IL 2. Matthew 11 3. Cobra 4. A fit set that helps him play even better 5. Though Matthew will tell you he’s a baseball player, I see more smiles on the golf course these days. This season he’s begun playing from the forward tees. On a windy Saturday between storm cells, he came to the par 4 9th hole which has OB down the right, is uphill and today was playing straight into the wind. He hits a beautiful cut that lands right center fairway. GPS is telling us we’ve got 188 to the pin. He asks “what do you think? 7 iron?” My reply was about it being too long, into the wind and uphill.....I suggested he smash his hybrid and move on. Well he did exactly that; sent it at the flag and it cut right landed before the green took a hop and disappeared. Once we make it to the green we see it has settled about 30’ to the right of the pin leaving him a downhill left to right sliding putt. To this point....putting is his weakness as he’s less than patient. I think he’s got a 50/50 chance of making it and offer up ice cream for a birdie. Well post round we were at the DQ getting a couple of blizzards. So all of that for the interesting fact....Matthew makes birdies for ice cream.
