Not a raised seam, looks to be like the cover is two piece?... If you look at the picture of it lined up behind my putter you can see a gap where they put the logo.

Do you line up the seam when you putt or use your driver?

I do when putting, have always done that.

With Driver I like to see no markings, so I make it so I can’t see anything as best a possible.

I am the exact opposite. I always use the alignment aid on the tee and never on the green.

Paint was all fine but the seam varied on some. It’s more noticeable on a few, the dimples are oval shaped like they were stretched. I’ll try to grab a picture.

Unfortunately I rinsed one, and lost one of the middle of the fairway. So I am short 2.

I haven’t scrutinized them up close and personal like Shankster had. But I’ll do that for stage 2. They do seem to wear very well. A couple of balls lasted several 9 hole rounds until I sacrificed them to the creek. They had minimal scuffs even when I was in trees, sand and on cart paths.

Great write-up's and pictures guys! You're all nailing it on your stage one's.@Shankster I love your photographic creativity, those are awesome! I've been thinking about taking the plunge and ordering these, I've actually found some used one's at Wal-Mart and really liked the MTB Black. I guess it's a byproduct of the MGS ball test that they are starting to show up like this. 20190622_211320-01.jpeg
I'm really looking forward to seeing how the X performs for you guys.

I am working from short game back.

Specifically wedge shots will be/have been tested. Lots of bunker play. Working on a 26 hole ball right now that has had quite the excursion.

I managed to dunk it in a drainage ditch, bounc it off 3 trees, a cart path, and an outhouse. one of those was on purpose, I’ll let you decide.

Did an entire round vs the BStone and PV1x. Going out tomorrow for a full round test.

Anything specific you’re looking for?

Now that you mention it, I'm looking for the video of you hitting the outhouse and the reaction of the person inside! 🤣

I mentioned in the Z-Star thread that I'm looking at switching golf balls.  I'm not getting a lot of spin off my Z-Star on my approach shots.  They have a tendency to roll out to much for my taste.  Just had an iron fitting and they said my irons should be producing more than enough spin, so it has to be the ball.  This is one of the balls that I'm considering as a replacement.

Luckily no one was in it. My dad and I always see who can snipe it...

So far my testing has just been thru general observations while playing. I have access to a short game area where I’ll do my best to compare a few balls against the Snell.

Specific on course tests will be more GPS data comparisons to my normal gamer and the good old gut test. I have completed the salt water test to check the balance of the balls and played 5.5 rounds with the MTB-X and have formed a pretty strong opinion of the ball.

My testing so far has been on course, usually playing two balls. Last week it was against the Snell Get Sum. I will match it with something else next week. My local range has a short game area, so I will try some in depth testing there if I can.

I started my testing on a three hole practice loop that has two par 4 and a par 3. I tested them against the Pro V1x, TP5 Pix, TP5x, Callaway CS, and CSX. My short game is the best part of my game and I practice that the most. So I did a lot of 70 yards and in testing.

Played 18 today, mostly alternating the X and the Black.  I'm definitely developing an opinion on the differences (or similarities).  I shot a nice 76. (73.1, 136).

That's a little bit of our job, as reviewers, to keep you wanting more.  In my case, I have out of town work for the next 3 weeks or so,  so I can only post some snippets from random weekends rounds until I can get home and really get some data.

Sorry for being slightly delayed, my stage 1 is up. Honestly not too much to say about the MTB-X yet, but I can definitely tell a different feel off of the club from my chromesoft-x. Definitely firmer.

Where are the pics, on your computer or your phone? I sometimes find that loading from my phone is a bit easier through the app, but that's personal preference!

From your computer, you can just drag the photos into the composing window and it should insert them right where your cursor is.

Ok my unreasonably long stage 1 is updated! Had a chance to play a round with the MTB-X and Chrome soft this weekend. Definite differences between the two with regards to feel. The Snell feels so solid that going from that the Chrome Soft makes the CS feel mushy almost. One notable shot was tight drive that I didn't feel I hit particularly well and still wound up at my usual 280 distance that the CS would get on a solid hit. Can't say I noticed a significant difference in spin characteristics between the two based on this round, but I think some work on the Trackman will help quantify that.

Also can't wait to see how quickly Snell turns around orders and shipping since I am DEFINITELY going to need another box in order to a thorough review without running out😑

Testing suggestions, if you have ideas feel free.  I've been working primarily on the 100 yards and in type shots.  I like to see how they respond around the green, that's where It's important that i keep it close

Since my course doesn't have an extensive practice area. I will be doing most of my testing on course. My plan, which I will post in my Staging area, is to play 4 holes on my course. Using 3  golf balls plus the Snell. Putting and chipping will be on these 4 holes but also around the courses putting green. I have started the course playing part of my testing, and will have updates soon.
