This week the LPGA moves to the state of Arkansas for the playing of the Walmart NW Arkansas Championship Presented by P&G.

This will be the third year my wife and I take our daughter to this event. It's always a good time with excellent golf. Bummed that Michelle Wie won't be here this year - though I'm more bummed for her injury in general. Looking forward to paying closer attention to more players though as I've started to learn a little more about the LPGA members.

We'll be at the first round tomorrow. Not sure yet what time we'll get there or how long we'll stay, but after some recent NLU podcasts and YouTube videos I know I'd like to watch Maria Fassi, and then Danielle Kang later on. Stacey Lewis will be off in the morning as well - having attended the University of Arkansas, she's always a crowd favorite.

I wish we could have been gone Sunday to watch Danielle Kang make a run! We got to see her start on Friday and that was it . Fortunately, we did get to watch a few ladies I'd hoped to see though including Maria Fassi - her swing is something to behold if you ever get the chance.

On a separate note, I have to say that I am disappointed with the way they do the LPGA round recap and highlight videos (don't have cable so I couldn't follow on the Golf Channel). When they do the voice over for the commentator, they completely cut all sound from the course which doesn't do anything to help promote the atmosphere at these LPGA events. Not having any video of Kang's birdie run at the end was a major letdown as well. I guarantee there was some noise at 17 when she drained that birdie to go -16. #17 at Pinnacle Country Club is set up almost like 16 at Scottsdale on the PGA Tour (minus all the beer and non-stop noise) with grandstands along three different sides of the hole.
