russtopherb
@GolfSpy Barbajo has a nice article on the new upcoming Q-STAR balls. I've found Srixons to be decent performing balls as a higher handicapper, and I'm a big fan of the Q-STAR Tour ball since it's introduction. So I'll be interested to see how these perform, however I will say that pricing them $3 less than the QST is a headscratcher. I for one will gladly spend that extra 3 bucks for the urethane. I've always tended to shy away from the higher-priced tour caliber balls not so much for their performance, but my own - I don't like the thought of losing $12-$16 worth of balls every 18 with my two way miss off the tee, and the divining rod-like prowess of my irons. That's one of the reasons why I gravitated towards the QST and I wonder if Srixon is going to be competing against themselves with the new 2 piece Q-STAR. DiscipleofPenick
I don't think there's a better bang for buck ball than the Q star tour. Btw if you have Prime last year they were $10 a dozen. Keep that in mind with Prime Day coming up in July.Take Dead Aim russtopherb and Brian A 2 Quote Take Dead Aim Driver: PXG 0211 10.5* Fairway: Titleist 917 F3 15* Hybrid: Adams Idea Pro Boxer Gold 18* Irons: MacGregor MT-86 Pro Wedges: Vokey 50/54/58 Putter: SeeMore X2 Costa del Mar Ball: Srixon Z-Star
SmoothG
A 2 piece ionomer covered ball priced at $27 is a fail. The urethane balls are too close in price. russtopherb and JohnSmalls 2 Quote Cobra SpeedZone 9* TourEdge EXS 18* TourEdge C721 22*H PXG 0211 DC 6-P + G Cleveland Zipcore Full Face 52/58* Wilson Staff Infinite Michigan Ave Taylormade Tour Response

My thoughts too. With the QST being so close in price, who'd sacrifice the measly $3 to not have urethane?? pulledabill
My 70 year old playing partner loved the ProV1 when he had higher swingspeed. Hes slowed down and was playing the Kirkland ball then one of the Bridgestones. He bought a dozen Q Stars from one of our tourny winnings and loves them. I played with him yesteday and noticed his ball flight was a little longer and more penetrating. I asked what he was playing and he said the Q Stars. He plays to a 14 but was a 4 for much of his life. This ball fits him well.
