G30 Repair 2

I saw the previous topic about the fix for the G30 issue but wanted to start another so as it doesn't get lost.  I was in a scramble event yesterday and was trying to turn down the loft of the driver but it wouldn't move.  I lightly tapped but it wouldn't budge at all.  I just screwed it back in and went on with it.  At the end of the round, I looked at it a little more closely.  There's a crack at the base of the head of the driver where the shaft goes into the head.  The crack is right at the back.  My first question is, what other ways have people gotten the head loosened and moved?  The second question is, how does PING normally handle issues with their clubs when there's a defect of this nature?  I am nervous to play with it, because it's only a matter of time before it snaps off.

They replaced mine but that was several years ago when they were still in production.

All you can do is ask them directly. Confidence isn't very high, but we've all been pleasantly surprised by PING's legendary customer service before. Give them a call tomorrow and let us know the results.

use a rubber hammer to "tap" on the head to get it to move

There is a guy in my league that plays a G30 and something started rattling around inside his driver. Ping fixed it for free and total turn around time was about a week, so I would suggest giving them a call. I was a bit shocked they fixed his driver since it is a 4-5 year old driver.

That's usually some adhesive thats come away, sitting the head in very warm water for 10 minutes usually solves that one.
