You never know with that game. It never is about which team is better.... it's which one wants it more.

I’d like to keep some optimism, but the outcomes of that game for the last 10 years hasn’t been fun.

That wasn’t the outcome I expected.

Sorry it is at your expense, but it is nice to see a different coach besides Harbaugh have an absolutely dejected look on his face all game.

Likewise. I thought it would be a fight to the finish and gave the nod to Michigan for home field. Reading the post mortems is pretty ugly .  This was ND's opportunity to make a bid for the bowl series, and they did not step up.  On the flip side, the Wolverines played their best game of the season thus far.  I don't like bye weeks before key rivalry games. Maybe good for healing, but they seem to yield let downs more often than not.  I'd like to say "we'll get ya next year"...but that won't be possible.

I agree. Bye weeks kill Michigan too. They had one before Wisconsin.

PSU was a fluke loss. Yes, I know, a loss is a loss, but that game was decided by the refs on two occasions. And one really terrible 4th and 1 call to kick a 58 yard FG... just go for it Jim!

I take it ND is out of the playoffs with 2 losses. OU on the bubble. Clemson, SEC and BIG 10 are all still sitting pretty. 

Every game in the Big 12 yesterday was an upset. OU might've got screwed with a rules misinterpretation but they shouldn't have been in that position to begin with. Glad Baylor didn't play yesterday. Speaking of Baylor...they were 0-8 on this date 2 years ago. 

I'm thankful we still have a few weeks left in the season to sort out the rankings. I still don't know how Auburn is ranked as high as they currently are...yes they have a quality neutral field win over Auburn, but their next best win is...Texas A&M...and A&M's best win is still Lamar at 4-4. They are 1-2 against top 30 opponents.

Mich over Notre Dame didnt surpise me exceot for the blowout score. Michigan isnt real good against top 10 teams. I thougt Wisconsin had more fight in them and it made my day to see OU lose. 

Chip Kellys UCLA cant quite figure out who they are. Lose to OSU one week and beat a top 25 last night.  They can put up points. 

UO was lucky to get the win at home last night against WSU.1st win against them in the last 4 or game matchups. Autzen was rocking and it was the best game Ive seen in person. Game ended at 11pm. I didnt get home until 2am and Im at still feeling it. 

Nov 9th..LSU/Bama....should he a great game.

Yup.  Odds are they wouldn't have gotten in even with a win over Michigan and winning out the rest of the season.  It would take two of the top 5 to stumble and one to stumble twice.

Appalachian State falls from the unbeatens... sorry @PMookie.  The Utah vs. Washington, Georgia vs. Florida and SMU vs. Memphis games should be doozies.  Not sure how my Irish will respond after the mess from last week.  No doubt Brian Kelly doubled down on some two-a-days to express his displeasure.  They need to win out and hope for some big upsets in the top 10... just to get a revenue ladened bowl bid.

But the REALLY BIG game of the week, and one that is a virtual toss-up, is this one...

Any predictions on the aforementioned games?  I'm rooting for Utah, but Husky stadium will be loud and unfriendly.  Utah is the "new kid on the block" and the old guard PAC 12 schools don't like them.

I was really happy to see our OC Coley abandon his previous stragedy of running 75% of our plays between the guards.   We actually have a very good offense when they are allowed to play.  I like your plan OG, now to just GATA.

The first week of the CFP poll is always comical. I wish this committee stuck to consistent metrics year after year. While we still have 4 more weeks of football followed by conference championships, it boggles my mind at how some of these teams are ranked. 

So it's better to play a tough team and have a close loss than to win against a weaker opponent? I don't get that at all. What if other sports seeded playoffs by close losses instead of what's in the win column. I wish they would just say the rankings are based mainly on the name on the front of the jersey. 

Team A : 1-2 against Top 25 teams. One win at home by 11 points. One loss away by 2 TDs, one loss at neutral site by 1 TD. 

Team B : 2-0 against Top 25 teams. Both wins on the road. Victories by 14+ points. 

Team C : 1-2 against Top 25 teams. Both losses on the road. Losses by 3 and 11 points. Victory on neutral site. 

Like I said, it's early and these things 'usually' work themselves out, but can someone explain their logic?
