I'm at a LSU fan's watch party for the game and it's pretty hard not to pull for em tonight.

This may be the only time I ever say this, but they should let the band play Neck.

Sunshine wasn't real happy after the game, was he?

His passing was off much of the game, but that can probably be attributed to LSU's pressure and tight coverage. Too many overthrown balls.

What LSU did with their offense in only one off-season is remarkable. LSU is arguably the most complete team we've seen in awhile. Just look at Joe Burrow's stats YOY 2018 vs 2019.

Definitely one of the more entertaining to watch. Looking forward to our 2020 game in Red Stick.

I did not get to see the game after Clemson had pulled within 3 after the half and had forced LSU to punt on the next series.  Just started my laptop and the first clickbait I see is about a "controversial PI call costs Clemson title"... expecting a point spread of 4 or less.  Then I see the final score of 42-25... yea, I don't think a PI call is responsible .  Glad LSU won... along with FSU, my favorite SEC program. 

Lots of guys moving onto the big dance and changes to starting lineups.  I'm already looking forward to the 2020 season!

We did too. Once LSU figured out Venebles it was all over.  LSU played a heck of a game

Yeah, for as big of a story as the PAC-12 officiating crew was going into the game, I thought they did an executional job. The calls seemed fair and well balanced. Even the PI call you’re referencing, I don’t think was all that controversial. It was nice to see a game where the officiating didn’t dictate the outcome.

My biggest complaint about these games is the start time. If I am a fan of either team, I can stay up, watch, and deal with the inevitable day of being tired, but since I really had no skin in the game, I turned it off around half time because my alarm goes off too early. I would really like to see some data on how many turn it off before the end versus how many west coast viewers they think they are gaining with the 8:30 kickoff. Of course, their logic might be something entirely different than what I am assuming.

It doesn't benefit the next generation of fan in any way.  Kids can't stay up beyond halftime, if they can stay up that late.  I didn't see anything after LSU scored to go up 28-17 just before halftime.  The 5am alarm clock has much more influence than my desire to finish watching a game.

I watched the entire game (except for a 10 minute nap 3qtr) and got up at 5:30. Yup, I’m tired.

Realignment, perhaps? Many variables in play, including the exorbitant costs for college tuition and many other entertainment options for millennials. Kids today...

Interesting article. My daughter (junior at Ohio State) did not purchase tickets this year for some of the reasons mentioned in the article - watching blowouts isn't as fun and she preferred to hang out with friends at their apartments.

The last game I attended was an OSU game in 2018. I was struck by how the TV timeouts really sucked the energy out of the building. It was also over about 7 minutes in and the weather was terrible. We lasted to the end of the 3rd before we bailed. Prior to that, my last game was the first Big 12 championship in St Louis (Texas/Nebraska) and I don't recall noticing the TV timeouts and the effect on the flow of game, but maybe because of the overall excitement, I didn't notice them?

I'll tell you why me and my wife don't go.  We live about 30 minutes from FSU's campus, and know many friends who have season tickets, but it's been at least 6 or 7 years since I even considered going to a game.  Even this year, when I didn't have ESPN during college football season, I could have cared less about FSU's football program.  Going to the stadium is a giant cluster**** for one.  Loads of traffic going every direction, blocking you from being able to find a parking spot.  So even when I did go to games, I was exhausted just trying to find a parking spot, which was probably miles from the stadium, meaning you are going to pay $25 to park 2 miles away and still have to hoof it.

Secondly, Doak Campbell stadium still has bleacher seating everywhere.  No chairbacks or anything, and the stadium was built eons ago, where your seat is literally small enough to where you can't lean back without hitting someone, or move your legs out from under you, without hitting the person in front of you.  You are literally packed in like sardines.

Thirdly, once you do get to your seats, you have to tolerate whatever random fan(s) happens to win the lottery sitting around you.  Mostly drunk, mostly obnoxious, and mostly spending the entire game shouting profanity laced tirades at how sorry the players, coaches, and team is.  Honestly, who wants to sit around someone who in any other capacity or location in life, would be arrested for drunk and disorderly.  But because it's a football stadium, people think they have a license to act like complete animals with no manners.

Fourth, and I cannot emphasize this enough.  Because FSU sucks, they got slated with a number of noon September games.  I don't know how many of you have been to Tallahassee in the summer (which is what September is), but it's 100 degrees in the shade, humid, and hot as balls.  I'd have more satisfaction laying on asphalt and allowing the sun to fry me like an egg, then I would sitting in a packed stadium like a sardine, with no recourse for the brutal heat.

And short of attending a game with a group of friends, where you would have the ability to stretch out a bit, and not have to endure 100 degree heat, count me out.

On the flip side, I have gone to several Georgia Southern games this year, and their stadium and tailgating experience is a pleasant one.  People get drunk, sure, but they aren't obnoxious at the game.  No one is sitting on top of you, and you can stretch out if you like most of the time.  Parking on not insane, and the games are not typically at noon.  It's also a much smaller stadium, so there's a more intimate atmosphere at Southern games.

So that's my two cents honestly.  And I say that as someone who, because I refuse to subscribe to ESPN, doesn't even watch the games at home.  It's honestly not that important to me in the grand scheme of things.

Well, another season in the books, and it seems that the team that looked the best for the better part of the season has won the title. Well earned. Of course they are losing half the team to the NFL so they my not stay on top, but they played very good all year and earned the Trophy

One other thing I forgot to mention in my lengthy rant above as to why I don't go to FSU football games, is the fact that every September the non-conference schedule is less than inspiring, where FSU schedules teams from lower tier conferences that they (assume) have no shot at beating them.  This is akin to preseason games in the NFL that are beyond a waste of time.

Now before some Boise State fan stops me, I'll be the first to tell you that I told anyone and everyone that FSU would lose to Boise State this year, mostly because of how horribly coached that team was under Willie Taggart.  But come on, stop wasting my time with meaningless games against out of conference opponents you know aren't playing on a level playing field with you.  And honestly, even with that, ULM just about beat FSU, taking them to OT.

I will say though, that as I am browsing next season's schedule, the only waste game that FSU plays this next year is against Samford, which will probably be on September 12th.  The rest of their non-conference schedule is solid.

But honestly, these horrible non-conference games by SEC and ACC teams, against lesser conferences is a plague on the entire sport.  One of the main reasons I detest Alabama so much is that they continue to schedule the weakest non-conference schedule on the planet.  I mean, here's the powerhouse lineup of non-conference games that Nick Saban has already penciled in his 3rd string to start in for 2020.  Georgia State, Kent State (I honestly didn't even know they had a football team), and UT Martin (same deal, a football team at that school?).

But until the playoff committee and pollsters start penalizing teams like Alabama for playing these glorified scrimmages, they'll continue to do it.

I'm an Alabama fan and as much as I love seeing them dominate other teams, it does nothing for the game, doesn't help either program, or the NCAA at all. I hate these scrub schedules then you get a tough game and cant execute start to finish. SEC needs to up their conference games as well and move from the current 8 games of conference to play to 9. There's too many years that can go by where conference teams dont even play each other. 

I'd love to see some kind of rules where it limits the scheduling of Division 1-AA games and makes you schedule more Power 5 conference games.
