Rallying some support for my wife!

My wife is a photographer and celebrated her 5th year in business yesterday. The last two years, she has been voted Hawaii Magazine #1 Wedding Photographer in Hawaii, which is a hell of an accomplishment given the number of photographers in the state. Every year, I've tossed up a post to drum up some support for her, and with @Golfspy_CG2's permission, I'm doing the same here. All I ask is that you check out her site and/or IG page (Vanessa Hicks Photography) to see her work and after doing so if you feel compelled to cast your vote for her, please do so here: https://www.hawaiimagazine.com/content/vote-2020-hawaii-magazine-readers-choice-awards-and-you-could-win-trip-big-island.

After hitting the link, just scroll down to the 'Best of Hawaii: All Islands' link, click it, and enter 'Vanessa Hicks Photography' in the Best Wedding Photographer field. Follow the directions after that and your vote will be cast and you'll also be entered into a contest to win a trip to Hawaii! 

Vanessa works very hard at her job, and we both truly appreciate the support!

... When friends ask me to vote for their spouse or kids I have no problem doing so. But when strangers come on a forum and pander for votes I rarely comply simply because I don't know their qualifications. That said, your request is so very classy, asking us to view her work first and then "if compelled" to please cast a vote. I did and was, so I voted for Vanessa. I have been on the other end of the lens for many photo shoots and know how difficult it is for a photographer to get realistic shots from people not used to being in front of the camera. Vanessa's shots are spectacular. Good luck ka'u hoaaloha!

I appreciate that! Definitely posted with no expectations, but I'm very proud of how far her business has come these last 5 years so it's quite gratifying to see her get recognized. Thanks again for the support!

I went to her website and she does incredible work. It's amazing how well she captures the people in those beautiful surroundings without either being lost - it would be easy to let the surroundings take the shot but she does a wonderful job of blending the two. The shots are natural yet directed. I have married many, many couples in my ministry and I have seen and been in countless pictures - not to mention two of my children were married in the last few years - this is an area I have some understanding; your wife is quite good! Vote cast
