They're trying to roll out a proper app with a mobile draft room before the season starts.

ATTENTION:

 

Some of you may have seen but the League Scoring Votes are live for consideration.  Make your way over to the league homepage to make your voice heard.  Not everything made it to a vote, us commissioners decided to unilaterally accept a few suggestions and decline a vote for others. 

We took the proposed changes into consideration and here's a quick summary:

• Up for League Vote
  • Points Per Rush
  • Defense: yardage allowed
  • Individual Match-ups per week
  • PUNTERS
  • Waiver Wire Format
• Commissioner Accepted
  • Sliding kicker penalties depending on length of miss
  • Offensive fumble = -2
  • Playoff Format (will post bracket once I get a chance to do it):  
    • Top 6 in each division make playoffs
    • Top 2 in each get a bye
    • Divisions play out NFL style then meet in a three-way Golden Ticket Bowl
• Commissioner Denied
  • Offensive Bonuses
    • Too much volatility. This league is too big for chaos. 
  • Extra Flex
    • Owners pool is too deep
  • Defensive sack worth more than 1 pt
    • For this league, it's balanced as is
  • Removing points for a Defensive win
    • It was voted in last year so we're not opening a chance for removal this year
  • Increase Passing TD from 4 to 6
    • For this league, it's balanced as is

 

Anything I missed?  These polls close next Tuesday, the 13th, at noon EST.  If there's anything else you'd like considered, speak up now or forever hold your peace.  Thanks to all those who have provided input thus far.

None of that is set. I had to put something down so that I could set the draft order. We are still waiting on the vote here for draft day.

So guys, fun reminder to go vote in the polls if you haven't already. Couple of them are pretty close right now.

Also, a friendly reminder from your tri-comissioners. We are not perfect. If you see something that we've missed or have a change you'd think would change the league for the better, let us know ASAP.

There is nothing worse than a brilliant idea not being presented until week 3 when we can't do much until the 2020 league.

Well it looks like one of the polls is mostly decided, but I'm going to talk a little bit about it because it will be brought up again next year.

2 matchups a week vs 3 matchups a week.

2 matchups a week is going to win by a landslide this year and I'm far from surprised. People and fantasy players alike generally do not like change.

 

I prefer 3 matchups a week for multiple reasons in this league. 1- this is a 3 division league and the only way we get close to a round robin (playing everyone) is by each team having 3 matchups weekly. There is less chance you can be hurt or helped by your schedule this way since it is less likely to have an easy or hard schedule.. 2- The more matchups you have, the more likely the best teams make the playoffs. There will be less teams with win's despite scoring very few points. Those teams that do get wins that way will also likely have multiple losses in those same weeks. As a commissioner, nothing frustrates me more than when bad teams make the playoffs and good teams are left at home.

3- In short, the more matchups you have, the less luck comes into play. And while I understand that luck is certainly a part of fantasy sports, I have zero interest in making it more important than skill.

I shot it down because, like Fantasy Golf, Its hard to track how I am doing against the plethora of opponents I'm facing every week. I'd much rather have 1 or 2 at max because its more fun for me. I like to watch football all day Sunday knowing who does and does not need to perform for me to win. Its why I enjoy Fantasy Football and facing 3 opponents makes it near impossible to keep track of all the players I'm hoping sink or swim. 

Just my 2 cents and why I voted that way. I may be the only one who voted that way for this reason, but I just think its more fun when its easier to keep up with.
