I can't compare to Vokey SM7's and granted my SM5's were showing their age,  but I think that the RTX4's spin as much if not more than my Vokeys.

I also love the head weight and feel of the RTX's.

I do feel that the Cleveland RTX 4's have a heavier head feel to me.  According to Titleist's website 46*-52* lofts are D3 swing weights while the RTX 4 lofts of 46*-48* are D3.  Stepping up to Vokey SW starting at 54* on up has a D5 Swing weight.  Meanwhile, the RTX 4 lofts of 50* & 52* are D4 and 54* on up are D5.

So in my current configuration I have the RTX 4 in the following lofts:

52* @ D4 (this is heavier than the Vokey SM7)

56* @ D5 (same swing weight as the Vokey SM7)

I want a retest on the 50 yard shots😄...seems kind of weird that the Vokey has over 1250 rpms more spin than the Cleveland RTX 4 on pitch shots.  It doesn't seem right to me.

I'll try to grab another test just on the 50 yard shots.  I was running out of time in my session so I wasn't able to hit as many as I would have liked to get a better sample size.

Today I was able to run back to my PGA SS to get back on the launch monitor for the retest of the 50 yard pitch shots.  I hit nothing but pitching shots for 30 minutes with the RTX 4 vs the Vokey SM7.  Below are the averages of that 30 minutes.  The results aren't as dramatic as the first test, but it still has Vokey at about 700 rpm higher than the RTX 4.  (Please note I was using 3 brand new Srixon Z-Star golf balls for this test.)

@goaliewales14, dude, I was just kidding about the retest 😄   That number sounds a bit more reasonable though that then 1500 RPM difference.  Still seems a bit higher than I would expect.  Are the bounces the same ?  How about the shafts ?  Just wondering.

I actually wanted to retest anyways because as I mentioned, I wasn't able to get a good sample size.  I wanted to make sure I did the test justice.  Plus it as gave me an excuse to go to the golf store. 🙂

In terms of the shafts, the Vokey had their standard shaft, correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that's the DG S200.  Ours have the DG Tour Issue S400, so the Vokey being just a bit softer.  That would be helping with the extra spin.

In terms of bounce, I was using the M grind (8* of bounce) for the first test and today I had the S grind (10* of bounce) to get it as close to ours as possible.

You are correct that the standard shaft for Vokeys is the s200.

Did my testing at Golftec, interesting results for the stage 2. However I was right noticing about 8-10 yds less distance on full shots vs CBX 1 wedges

Just wanted to comment that the Cleveland RTX 4 wedges kept me in it during my match play with the course pro!   I had to lean heavily on them as I wasn't getting approaches anywhere near the green and often times short sighted myself leaving pitch and chips down hill or above the hole.  In the end, it wasn't my wedge play that did me in, it was a driver that frankly, didn't want to drive.  Looks like my season is over.  Still, very impressed with the playability of these wedges!

Went out for a quick round yesterday to take advantage of this beautiful weather!  Unfortunately, I ended up pulling something in my shoulder about half way through the round. 😢  Up until that point, these wedges were performing beautifully!  I love being able to get creative with each shot now that I have so many different options especially with the Xlow.  There was one shot I had 50 yards, and I need to thank @MDGolfHacker for the how this shot ended up with my 54*.  🤣  Hitting nothing but 50 yard pitches to get spin rates, let's just say this was an easy up and down.

Here's a first for me with any wedge...I was practicing for 30 minutes prior to heading home today and flew a chip RIGHT INTO the hole...slam dunk!  Felt like a pro!  RTX 4 wedge strikes again!

I am finding I am relying more on my 54* for punch/abbreviated shots that I normally would have hit 60* full swing shots in the past.

Feel like I can get a better strike with the same spin.

The reviews, and playing with @mr.hicksta made me finally decide on new wedges. I've seriously been thinking about new wedges for over a year, mostly because the gap from PW (45) to GW (52) was leaving me with awkward shots often. I'm kinda picky, and I can't stare at shiny chrome wedges, so black was a prereq for me. After finding out the Glide 3.0 weren't going to be offered in black, and with how much everyone I know who games these LOVES them, I joined the fam!

Another thing I like about them is the leading edge progression. I don't like spoon-y wedges when I'm taking full swings -- just feels like if I catch one toe-side of middle it's gonna skull across the green because the leading edge stars to round off. Not sure if that's actually a thing, but I tend to over-think things and once it's in my mind, it's there.

The 50* looks great, and it's a nice progression from my PW. I had debated about ordering the set wedge with my 919's but when I saw the 52* in the reviews I noticed that it's not spoon-y at all. It helps that I play regularly with someone who games them as well, so that further confirmed that I could bag these all day.

That black finish is GAWJUS -- even with my oily finger prints on them... WUPS!

The shape of these wedges are a big selling point.  They frame well and transition nicely as you go up in loft.

Great stuff in these reviews so far. Keep up the good work! I love the classic look of these wedges - the raw finish with the big ferrules really brings me back in time. I also love that they offer so many bounce & finish options (for righties at least) and the s400 shaft is perfect IMO.

For stage 2 reviews, I know there has already been some commentary on this, but I'd be curious to hear some additional thoughts around turf interaction for the respective grinds, specifically on chips in wet/dry conditions, thin/juicy lies, fluffy/sparse bunkers. For me this is the toughest part of a wedge to test out without buying so the commentary is super helpful. Thanks in advance!

I can tell you now...the 58 mid is nowhere near as forgiving as my 58K.  I actually had the chance to test out a mushy green side chip from water runoff Saturday.  The K glides right over where the RTX dug in.

I absolutely love my Xlow!!  The turf interaction is great, but it all depends on what conditions you typically play, and what you want to do with it.  A lot of the courses around me have hard fairways and bunkers.  I have taken it off wet and fluffy, and I still love it.  Granted if you need forgiveness, the Xlow isn't really the way you want to go.  I wanted it so I can basically lay it wide open and do whatever I want around the green.

The mid grind for me has worked really well.  It's your standard grind that works well with a 54* wedge.  Granted, I would like a little less bounce so I can play with it more around the green, but I've been able to knock it close on all of those longer touch shots.  With this one on full shots, I don't really notice much difference between the turf interaction that my irons (Srixon Z545s) which is a good thing.

Has anyone had any trouble with the 56 2-Dot (V-sole) in firm bunkers? I really struggle to get mine to dig at all in the sand. It just wants to skim through and I tend to skull it a lot with that club.

I'm thoroughly impressed with these after my second round with them.

Not sure if it's the modus shafts feeling a lot less heavy and stiff than the s200's in my old wedges, or the wedge design, new grooves, or a combination of all of them. I have so much more confidence in this 58 than I ever had in my old 60, and it's been great. Once I have the distances dialed in a bit further I'm expecting nothing but great things!

I'm getting a lot more greenside spin which is going to take a little getting used to. I threw a couple closer to the hole than intended, and I'm so surprised how fast they stop!

99% of all of the bunkers I play out of are very firm.  What you're describing is exactly the same issue I was having with my Glide 2.0's because they were WS.  With the 54*, I definitely don't open up the blade since it has more than enough bounce for firm bunkers.  This is one of the reason in my Stage 2, I wished there were more options for these wedges.

Is there anything else anyone wants to know or see tested? The weather looks to be turning so rounds may become limited

I’ve been MIA lately and haven’t been online as much, but I wanted to post an update...

I put these back in my bag after some additional testing.  I’ve still got the stock TI S400 in, but I’ve got some KBS 610s ordered.  However, at this point, I’m not exactly sure I’ll make the change.  I mentioned in my review about how consistent these things were with trajectory, but not really being able to control the knockdown that I like to hit.  I still can’t hit the knockdown the way I like, but the distance dispersion has finally caught on.  Simple consistency just makes sense.

I hit these at my wedge fitting, and if they could’ve come down 20-30 feet, I’d have bought them. They were great feeling, nice dispersion, but boy, they went SO high. I liked these a HUNDRED times more than the RTX-3!
