tony@CIC
I just read the push email from MGS on the "Most Wanted Driver" and can't believe That the 410 didn't make it to the top of the list. I love everything about my 410 - sound, feel, ball flight, look, etc. no comparison between it and my GBB. fixyurdivot
Gotta link to the piece? 3rd overall is really good when you consider the plethora of competition and that the G410 has little bling as compared to most of the field. Just my opinion, but I think it takes #1 if PING had opted to do a see through composite weave crown and some Cobra F9 like color. Personally, I'm glad they didn't. I like the utilitarian look. As I stated in my review, it reminds me of the Ford Mustang Bullitt... very mundane until it leaves the line. tony@CIC and Rickp 1 1 Quote G410 Plus, 9 Degree Driver G400 SFT, 16 Degree 3w G400 SFT, 19 Degree 5w ZX5 Irons 4-AW Glide 2.0 56 Degree SW (removed from double secret probation ) ER5v Putter (Evnroll ER5v Official Review) AI-One Milled Seven T CH (Currently Under Product Test)
dalejbrass
Ping 410 is the real deal. My club had a demo day Friday evening. Went over with ZERO intentions of buying, as I went through my entire bag earlier this year at the Performance Center at TPC Sawgrass. Just wanted to check things out and hit a few clubs (primarily wedges). Visited each tent for a few minutes and chatted with the rep's. Ping guys talked me into hitting the Ping 410 LST (I've gamed several different LST Ping drivers over the years). Gave them the specs of my gamer - TM M6 Tensing Orange Stiff. Proceeded to tee a few up. Liked the way the head looked and felt, but first shaft didn't work for me. After a few different shafts....I proceeded to rope drives over the net at the end of the range. Club felt incredible and felt as if I "couldn't" miss. Again....had no intentions of buying any clubs....especially a new driver. BUT....this was just too good. Grabbed my TM and performed a little test of my own. Hit 12 balls with each stick...……...well....now I own a new 410 LST. Anyone looking for a nice TM M6? revkev
Always remember with Most Wanted Tests that they provide starting points - Every driver that was tested is the right driver for someone. The year's most wanted winner is the right driver for the greatest number of the test group. I replaced my G400 LST (last year's most wanted driver) with the G410 Max - I didn't have the same fitting options for the LST as the 410 Max so this one is a better fit and I have gained a bit of yardage. According to tru-fit the best fit for me among this year's drivers would be the Callaway Sub Zero but that's without any sort of fitting beyond tru-fit. Rickp
I’ve not heard one negative about the G410 driver from owners in TV. If there’s one place to get negative is a retirement community. With the same SS and smash factor the LM was showing 20 yds difference between the two. I also found the sound of the 410 more appealing. BMart519
I guess I need to try the LST... I have demo'd the G410+ head to head against the F9 twice this year using the Tensei Orange stiff and Tour 65X. The 410+ has been consistently higher spinning than the F9 with the Atmos Blue 65S both heads at 9*. The F9 has beat out the 410+ in terms of distance (10-15 yards) and dispersion in 2 sessions on the simulator. Part of this is attributable to the fact my contact is much more consistent around the center of the face on the F9. The club ho in me who just bought a set of G410 irons wants to get the matching driver. But my bank account and past success with cobra hybrids (Rail-H bafflers still in the bag) is making the F9 hard to turn down. Especially after holding the F9 and G410 hyrbids side by side and preferring the F9s which have the same shafts as the driver... tony@CIC 1 Quote G425 MAX Driver & 5W Baffler Rail-H 3H-4H 699 Pro Utility V2 - 4i APEX CF19 6-AW INDI Wedges 52, 56, 60 EAS 2.
