chorea
Hi I'm new to this forum just after a bit of advice I've just won a F9 speedback driver and a F9 3 wood I'm really not sure what loft settings I should use especially the 3 wood!! I'm a lefty and my SS is 85-90 any advice would be appreciated or point me in the right direction Cheers Dave Quote Link to comment
cnosil
Not a lot of info to go on so it is almost impossible to provide a recommendation. I’ll assume you are a higher handicap and struggle to get the ball into the air. I would go 10.5 or more on the driver and as high as you can on the 3 wood. tony@CIC
Congrats on winning both clubs. To support what @cnosil said. My fitter tuned up my driver and 5 wood to their highest loft setting so the reason he said. As to the draw-fade setting guess you'll just have to experiment with that. cnosil and Maltenator 2 Quote Left Hand orientation SIM 2 D Max with Fujikura Air Speeder Shaft Cobra Radspeed 3W/RIptide Shaft 410 Hybrids 22*, 26* Cobra Speed Zone 6-GP/Recoil ESX 460 F3 Shafts SM7 54* Wedge Glide 3.0 60* Wedge O Works putter V3 NX9-HD - 4 Wheel EZGO TXT 48v cart - too many shoes to list and so many to buy And BAG Boy Golf Balls: Vice Pro Plus 2020 Official Tester Beginning Driver Speed - 78 2019 Official Tester 410 Driver 2018 Official Tester C300 Link to comment

If there's a PGA Superstore near you they do free fittings. Will only take about an hour of your time. Get fitted for the right shafts, and the right lofts. And to piggy back onto what @cnosil said if you don't have time to get fitted before getting the clubs get the high lofts, and they are both adjustable so you can always drop the lofts if needed. Or take them in to a golf shop and a fitter will adjust them to the best of their ability for you, and you can always buy a new shaft if the ones you get don't work for you. chisag
... Dave, the beauty of an adjustable loft is ... you can adjust them. With your lower swing speed I would put both at the highest loft. Most golfers play too little, not too much loft. If the flight/spin is higher than you like, start adjusting down until you get the flight/spin you want. tony@CIC, bens197, cnosil and 1 other 4 Quote Driver: Qi10 10.5* ... There are a million amateur instructors on these forums so I’ll stay away from lesson type recommendations with this one exception. As you adjust the loft looking for your grove concentrate on lowering your left shoulder a bit to promote an upward strike. If you have access to a hitting bay with a launch monitor you might find the data helpful while adjusting your settings. Still there is no replacement for the real world feedback you receive on the range or course. Love to hear more about your experience as you tighten up your driver’s shot group.
