Scotty Cameron Phantom X Putters

Not much chatter regarding this line of putters.  Was curious if anyone else is currently gaming one.

I gamed the Phantom X 5.5 for the first time yesterday.  I really really like how it sets up to the ball.  Nice and simple alignment aid with the 3 dots at the top, with the stainless steel fangs providing additional alignment aid.  I putted well with my Spider X, but found myself struggling on slow greens with it.  With the phantom X thus far, I find the ball to come off the face a bit faster and seemingly at a more consistent speed.  

The sound the 5.5 produces is definitely unique due to the Aluminum part of the head.  But as one of my playing partners said yesterday, it could sound like a dying goat and I'd use it if it meant I could putt like that.

I took the liberty of getting rid of the neon yellow/green that Scotty decided to use and I think it really improved the look for me.  Looking forward to using this putter going forward.

Hand Raised!   Just got it in this week and early returns are positive.  It does come off the face a bit firmer/hotter than my PING Sigma Tyne 4.  But I'm getting closer and closer to having that dialed in.   But just about every stroke I've made with it has been very good, almost every putt looks like it has a chance to go in.   It's very stable through the stroke and easy to get started right on line.

I already have mine packed away in the travel bag for the trip tomorrow, and haven't taken any pictures yet.   But it's exactly the same as yours, and I couldn't top those photos!  Well Done!

Wow! Looks great! I have the older 5.5.  Putters don't last long in my bag, might be time to swap it out

I am currently selling one!
I love everything about this putter. The look, feel, sound are all perfect. The problem is I can’t make a putt with it. I don’t know if it is just a bad couple weeks or what. I struggle to make anything including 3-5 footers. I even went to the practice green for an hour and couldn’t make it work.
I’m thinking if it doesn’t sell by Saturday, I may have to go put in some more practice green work to give it one more chance.

Just curious.  What are your misses with it. 

It (assuming you have the 5.5) does have a good amount of Toe Hang.  Which can cause the head to release too much for some, if they are still SBST style or just need a touch of toe hang.

Yeah it is the 5.5. My misses are pretty much every way you can miss. Long, short, left, right I can do it all!

This does confirm my suspicions that the practice greens at golf stores are rigged so you make almost everything because I couldn’t miss in the store! Lol. I am contemplating a grip change to see if that helps any.

That’s a well known fact. I always check speed/distance control at the store and never worry about making them. Can I start it on my line and does it go as far as I’m tryin to hit it

stores have juiced monitors and putting green that anything not hit to hard or soft will go in

Exactly. I rarely putt T the hole there.  I'll role one ball at a spot as my target.  Then I roll subsequent balls to that ball as my target.  

I do this on actual course putting greens as well, while everyone is tripping all over each other putting to the same two or three holes.

I feel the same way about Golf Store putting greens. I usually spend about an hour with a putter in there before I’ll decide on it, and then when I practice with it for a few days I could feel totally different about that putter. 

I’d love to do a real putter fitting sometime to make sure I actually get the putter that’s best for my stroke.

I like the new sight lines on 12.5.  I was able to see a few custom Phantom Xs at the gallery store in CA when I visited.  The right paint scheme can really stand out.
