Congrats on the new position!   Nice to also put a face to the name!

Thanks.  Rarely in a suit these days and guess I need to get myself a nice hardhat.

I'm a 30yr old Manufacturing Engineering Technician. I work for Flex-O-Lators which is a leading manufacturer of automotive seating suspension systems (the wire grids and lumbar supports buried in the seats of your car). We produce products for a large swath of the North American car market and recently started production for the Tesla Model 3 as well.

My job primarily focuses on process improvement. I do a lot of data analysis, work instructions, and training presentations.

I've been playing golf off and on since I was a kid, but never really devoted much time to it until maybe 5 years ago. It's a constant battle however, as I usually get swamped during peak season and will plateau (or stumble) in regard to score - only to gain some momentum before the season ends. Rinse and repeat...

I'm 41 and a stay at home dad. Before that, I was an Video Editor/Producer for a professional sports team and also edited shows for The Outdoor Channel and The Design Network.

Prior to finishing school, I worked as a professional gambler, playing in California card rooms.

Once my kids are all in school I'd like to go back to work. Maybe I'll start another new career.

Hmmm we use the apx4000 at my current job. It's nice I like the digital radios way more than the analog radios I used at my old job.

47 years old, and I've been in IT for the last 20 years or so. I started out as a developer, moved into tech lead roles, then wound up managing the development groups of a fairly large trucking company based in Richmond, then moved to running app development for the Virginia Retirement System.

Government work was not for me.

I now work as a consulting client manager for a good sized enterprise software company based in Raleigh, NC. I am incredibly fortunate to have fallen into this gig; I absolutely love it.

31, Certified Water Distribution Operator (when you turn the faucet on, I make sure water comes out). Y'all wouldn't believe some of the calls we get. One of my favorites, “My water taste bad”, only to find out the have a filter they haven't changed in 15 years. Oh yeah, water is very under appreciated until you have a 24” main line break and several thousand people out of water. Then everyone is calling non stop. But, I get a company truck and I'm outside everyday. All in all I really like my job.

I've been in education for 25 years. I have taught high school math and coached just about everything at some point. I was a high school principal in Maine, and went back to the classroom when I came to Florida. Currently teaching and coaching football in Southwest Florida. This way I get 8 weeks back in Maine every summer. Could never pull that off as an administrator.

Within this year, I hope to become a retired Virginia Gentleman.   I have enjoyed my professional life in the hospital industry..   Many of the folks back home consider me a major success because I have indoor plumbing.   Since I don't have the resources to travel the world and I can't stay home and watch Jerry Springer, golf will be my primary activity.   Heck, with a bit of luck I may even find a way to make some pocket change in a golf related manner, though definitely not as a professional.

Permit me to ask--for what are you counting on me, I do not want to disappoint.   I trust that you did not think that I meant that I could make pocket change on the course because that would never happen.   Rather I meant off the course, such as a shop assistant or marshal maybe.   More to the point, I am open to any suggestions in such regard as long as it is not based on my playing abilities.

The quote is from the movie Airplane! and I was referencing your first statement:
