What’s in RevKev’s bag

Not my Bible although I do have a copy of the Greek NT on my phone which goes in my bag while practicing or playing!

 

Here’s what I do have. It’s not the sexiest of set ups but it is extremely functional. There’s only one club here that I wasn’t fit for and based on what’s in and where I play it’s necessary.

 

Driver: Ping 410 plus 12 degree Alta Distanza weak R flex, 40 grams, weight set to fade.

 

I hit over 70 percent of my fairways with this club. It’s performance average is right around 240.

 

3 wood - Tour Exotics EX 10 15 degrees graphite design AD 50 R flex -

 

This is the one club that my gapping guy removed which I put back in because I need a club that goes 200-229 off the tee and I can’t get that distance with 5 wood in the summer here - too wet. I’m uncertain as to whether or not I will keep it in the bag or remove it as it dries out.

 

Ping G 410 5,7,9 woods - Alta R flex shots

 

I’m money with the 7 and 9 woods and reasonable with the 5 wood. It’s a great positional club on par 5’s or those troubling par 4’s that are just out of reach.

 

Ping G 30 6-PW. Aero tech Volant R flex shafts. Best equipment move this summer was keeping them in the bag when the long game fitter told me they were a perfect match. Ironically they ended up in my bag three years ago at the recommendation of a Titleist fitter.

 

SCOR 48,52,58 genius 7 and KBS wedge flex shafts.

 

All of my irons and wedges are 2 flat - the Ping fitter said the only way those wedges should leave my bag is if I give them to him. :). I also have a 53, 56 and 60 in my closet - the 56 and 60 came out and the 58 came in for the 3 wood. I love the 60 but I’m finding a benefit to fewer wedges - less uncertainty when i choose one and the 58 is looking very good from traps. I can open it to hit a modified flop shot.

 

Putter EVNRoll ER 5 - Thou Shalt not change what Guerin Rife has putt in thine Ogio Bag!

 

I use Pro VIx optic yellow balls with my RevKev logo on them. I have a Shot Scope watch, Swing Caddy and the Super Speed Red stick to warm up and for some drills.

 

Pretty basic stuff all fit to make the game as much fun as possible.

I'm planning to have a long discussion with the Ping fitter when we get to that point in the G410 iron test. The extra bonus from that is being able to save my pre-paid fitting at Golftec for Driver/Fairway later on in the year. Possible changes to the whole bag are looming....

Based on what we’ve heard about Golftec I’d have a lengthy discussion with the Ping guy about his recommendations for the rest of the bag. (In regards to club type - you know - in your opinion should I game hybrids, driving iron or fairway wood? What loft/shaft would you start off with for me - that type of stuff. I’d also plug my numbers into tru fit so you have a golftec starting point)
