What indoor putting aid and why

Im actually a decent putter and I do practice outdoors througout the year, but one of my winter goals is to get a more consistent stroke. Im considering one of the mirror systems out there but which one? Yes I research and sesrch the site, but discussion brings more. Also considering building a putting green in my basement as I have plenty of room.

Here's one of the simplest (and cheapest)

Put the ball in the hole, and putt it off the other end of the yardstick.  Its not sexy, and it can be really boring, but if you can consistently do it, you can hit your line on the course.

I really like (and have used) Eyeline's offerings. Specifically this one: https://eyelinegolf.com/collections/putting-aids/products/edge-putting-system-with-rail-mirror-slight-arc. Unfortunately, it doesn't really work with mallets like my Scotty 6m because of the weights located on the back of the head. Your Taylormade would likely have similar issues.

I eventually sold my Edge mirror and gave the putting rail to my course pro for use in his lessons. In place of those, I ordered the Classic Eyeline mirror in the smaller size so that it fits in my golf bag (https://eyelinegolf.com/collections/putting-aids/products/putting-alignment-mirror?variant=8019895058462). I use it at home all the time and can very easily take it with me to the course.

Ruler (as mentioned above) or gates to roll the ball through.   Goal is to work on face impact position to start the ball online.    Haven't found a way to work on distance control unless you build a pretty long putting green.

I use a gate system.  Easy to tell what the issue is in your putting stroke.

ditto.

I am, and always have been a poor putter.

Gate system, and new putter that suits my stroke () has helped enormously.

As ED13 said its easy to identify a clear flaw doing this.

Does putting the ball out of the hole affect the initial roll? I would think it would?

I haven't seen any real bounce, and if you make a good stroke (good path and clubface), the ball rolls straight.

Haven't noticed anything either,  doesn't really sit that deep in the hole and balls should have some lift and bounce before the pure roll phase of the putt.

That's why it works.  No way I'll hit 50 three-footers at a regular hole, but I'll stand there for an hour trying to hit that damn micro-target.

I like the ping app. I had an old iPhone and bought the cradle on ebay. I used it to putt in the house last winter. My putting has really improved

Border Collie. Took a while, but finally trained my dog to wait until the ball stopped until retrieving it and returning to approximately the right spot to put again.

After a hip replacement I was off golf for 12 weeks, for most of that time i used a mirror and a Eyeline golf sword. That really helps you groove your stroke, I came back putting really well just took a little time for the rest of the game to catch up.

I use the putt out mirror and gates, and use small coins as target practice to switch up the block practice.
