Tarheelvolvo
I know this happens to the best of us. You're about 100yds out with a wedge in your hand, you take a few practice swings, step up to the ball, make sure you're lined up right, give the club a little shake and then hit it skimming across the green because you picked up your head just enough to hit a dreaded "thin" shot. Well, this is supposed to help with thin, fat, and all other types of mis-hits and wondered if anyone has tried it and what your experience was. https://www.izzo.com/flatball-training-aid.html Thanks! PlaidJacket
There are variations on this for free. For instance... broken tee stumps. Who hasn't swatted a few broken tees before? Same principal imo. I suppose most anything will work in the place of buying a specific aid. Of course this won't help IZZO much. Tarheelvolvo
All solid responses and appreciate the feedback...well, most of it @silver & black Did think about poker chips after the fact and that might be a good substitute, since I have a few of those lying around. Tee's give me pause since the height can vary so much with my fumbling fingers. cksurfdude 1 Quote In my Hoofer: G410 LST 10.5* - Kai'Li White 60 X-flex VRS Covert 3W 15* - Kuro Kage 65 S-flex T200 4-GW, DG X100 Tour Issue - Tester Glide 2.0 Stealth 54.12 SS & 58.10 SS Zing 2 LW - 60* Anser
tony@CIC
I saw a YouTube video recently where the instructor laid a tee on its side In front of the ball. The idea was to ensure you hit the tee after hitting the ball. GolfSpy MPR
As a sucker for (especially cheap) training aids, I've picked up a couple packs of these, and definitely go back to them from time to time. Obviously, other things can do roughly the same job, but these are well made for it. They're a fairly soft rubber, and have the added benefit then of leaving a faint rubber mark (easily rubbed out) on the face of your iron to show where you made contact. Depending on the surface you're hitting from, they do a nice job of highlighting thin contact (obviously) and fat. The latter is where the surface comes in. If you're hitting from a fluffy mat, you'll make what seems like decent contact and launch the Flat Ball up. But hit a tighter mat fat, and you'll come near to bouncing over the Flat Ball entirely. cksurfdude and Tarheelvolvo 2 Quote TS3 9.5°, Tensei Blue CBX T3 15°, Project X HZRDUS Black Epic Super Hybrid 18°, Aerotech Steel Fiber FC HYB S C722 21°, Ventus Blue 8S CBX Iron-Wood 25°, Project X HZRDUS Black 6.0 639 CB, Aldila NV 95 Graphite, 6–PW CBX 48° T22 54° and 60° EAS 4.0, Garsen G-Pro grip TP5x and Tour Response Full WITB with pictures

PlaidJacket
Interesting that this resurfaced this morning... Yesterday or the day before I saw old Martin Hall (man is he irritating to listen too) on the golf channel demonstrating this exact principal. However, he simply used the cap off a common plastic water bottle.
