SPY VIP GolfSpy_X Posted March 5, 2010 SPY VIP Share Posted March 5, 2010 What do you guys think of this? "The reason the best players in the world make their short putts is because they hit the ball with confidence. The ball pours into the hole, instead of dribbling in the side. The problem with training devices that shrink the hole is that it makes your stroke tentative. Have you ever tried putting to a smaller hole? Your stroke changes dramatically for the worse. With The Big Cup, you can learn how to hit those four-foot putts with "make it" speed because we've removed the fear! Learn what it's like to be confident in your stroke, and then take it to the golf course! With a confident, aggressive stroke, you'll make more putts! The Big Cup is designed to help you enjoy the game. Use it every time you play, or just on special occasions! You'll love it!" http://bigcupgolf.net/ #TruthDigest
mcbush25
I think the concept is admirable. It makes sense when they say that all other aids seem to shrink the hole instead of making it bigger. I would definitely give it a try to see how it works.
SPY VIP GolfSpy Dave Posted March 5, 2010 SPY VIP Share Posted March 5, 2010 So you have to keep enough speed to clear the lip, but not launch over it? Can you use it with the Big Putt and have huge success? Volvo Intorqueo All the cool kids follow me on twitter: @GolfspyDave If you are not a cool kid, following me on twitter will make you cool... Matt Saternus
I think that it's a good idea to hit short putts with good speed, but doesn't this device also make it impossible to lip in a putt on the side of the hole, or am I looking at it the wrong way? SPY VIP GolfSpy Dave Posted March 5, 2010 SPY VIP Share Posted March 5, 2010 Does anyone else practice short putts ( I have found that if my touch is off, a few short putts without looking at the ball puts me back on track. Not too good for long putts, but not terrible either. Volvo Intorqueo All the cool kids follow me on twitter: @GolfspyDave If you are not a cool kid, following me on twitter will make you cool... I've never really tried short putts while looking at the hole, but I might give it a shot. Follow me on Twitter: @MattSaternus

Looking at the target spot, not the cup though, on breaking or hilly putts. MmmmmmBuddy
And for that, you really only need a couple of tees. Sure, but putt to a smaller that normal hole for 15 min, take the reducer out, then look at the hole. It looks as big as a bucket. Seems impossible to miss, yet somehow I still do.
