tony@CIC
I was reading an online article in Golf Digest about describing your golf game in one word and don't recall seeing a similar topic here. There are lot's of words that I can use to describe mine - some of which I can't use here since the Mod's wouldn't like it. But the 'clean' one would be improving. Yes inconsistent could be one, abysmal could be another on some days, however, as I look at my GHIN scores for the past 80+ rounds in 2019, I've definitely gotten better with a more consist trend down. PMookie
Declining.I’ve gone from ALMOST hitting 5 hcp on the nose, to now being a 7.1. revkev
HopefulLike so many age and demands of life have robbed me of what was once a solidly consistent golf game. I was the most boring player you ever wanted to see play for a long time - tee ball in the fairway, approach on or around the green, next shot by the hole, putt it in, par, move on. Very few birdies, fewer doubles, lots of rounds under 75.Then it went awayNow I’ve gained back a good deal of yardage through SuperSpeed training and of late have gotten some consistency back through a set up change. Sadly the competitive part of my season has ended so this will have to wait until Spring to truly test. However I am able to practice and play through the winter so I’m... hopeful! :)Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy PlaidJacket, MattF, PMookie and 6 others 9 Quote Taylor Made Stealth 2 10.5 Diamana S plus 60 Aldila R flex - 42.25 inches SMT 4 wood bassara R flex, four wood head, 3 wood shaft Ping G410 7, 9 wood Alta 65 R flex Srixon ZX5 MK II 5-GW - UST recoil Dart 65 R flex India 52,56 (60 pending) UST recoil 75's R flex Evon roll ER 5 32 inches It's our offseason so auditioning candidates - looking for that right mix of low spin long, more spin around the greens - TBD
PlaidJacket
Solid. Meaning my game (these days anyway) is good all around. I'm playing in a narrow band of scoring 72-75. GB13
Streaky - I show flashes of brilliance where I can play -2 or -3 but then I also have rounds that can be mid 80s. My main goal is to become more consistent and that starts with a better mental approach. silver & black
Streaky. I don't know why. Getting older and losing distance. Tired... playing after working 10+ hours on my feet never works out for score, although I do enjoy playing in league. Playing on weekends after making a pot of coffee and breakfast, playing with my dogs and relaxing a bit before hitting the course usually results in acceptable scores. HardcoreLooper
Occasional. I've been lucky to average one round a week this year, with very little practice. A promotion has led to a significant increase in travel, and it's really cut into my time on the golf course. I've played a few really memorable courses and had a few pretty good rounds, but my handicap was a full shot better this time last year (playing quite a bit during CCC^2). And since my putting has improved (shoutout @PuttOUT), I know my ball-striking has significantly fallen off. revkev, Mr. 82, bens197 and 3 others 4 1 1 Quote What's in the bag: Driver - F8 - Aldila NV Blue 60 ( S ) 3 Wood (13.5*) - 980F 4 Wood (18*) - F8 - Aldila NV Blue 60 ( S ) 3 Hybrid (19*) - RBZ 4i - PW - D7 Forged - Recoil 760 ( S ) 52* - CBX 58* - CBX Full Face 2 Putter - Craz-e Bag - 2.5 (Blue) Ball - AVX Instagram - @hardcorelooper Twitter - @meovino Facebook - mike.eovino

You picked my word as I was thinking about it!! Inconsistent... but not just each time I play. It seems like it's every hole, or even every shot. One hole I can stripe it down the middle, and the next hole I push it or pull hook it; then back down the middle on the next hole. This issue has been worse this year than previous years, but I've had nagging shoulder and wrist pain most of the year so that's my excuse, and I'm sticking with it. I tend to be more focused when playing with my buddies on Monday walking rounds because we are all about the same skill level. I am more inconsistent when playing with my wife and people that we get paired with that are... well, not good. I feel like I have to play quicker than I'd like, so we don't fall behind. I never do well doing that. I also haven't been playing consistently when it's just my wife and I. She's been struggling this year and has only broken 90 a few times. The last couple of years I had to keep focused because if I lapsed, she could beat me if I shot mid-80's. Hasn't happened this year, even as poorly as I have played a few times. cnosil 1 Quote “We don’t stop playing the game because we get old; we get old because we stop playing the game.”

I'm pretty consistent when I play with my wife or guys with similar indexes. Recently we played with two couples at different times that were just starting out (re: very high indexes) that resulted in my worst games. Not sure if it was because of the slow play - their taking so many strokes, or the lack of cart etiquette or......regardless we vowed not to play with those two couples unless it was a scramble. Mr. 82
schizophrenic I go a month or two and can't break 80, and then I go another month in the upper 70s. Back pain that comes and goes, and inconsistencies caused from a lack of practice are the biggest contributors to the ups and downs in my game. It doesn't help that I am lucky to get in 1 round a week when I am home. But when I visited my parents a few weeks ago I was playing almost every day, and by the end of the trip I was flirting with even par here and there. I'd someday like to break 70 before I am too old to appreciate it. I'd also like to have a hole in one some day too, but that's mostly about luck, and the only type of luck I find is bad, so we all know how that will turn out. Well, I had an eagle a few weeks ago, so it ain't all bad. Oh, and the chip in to save par on Saturday was quite the thrill. Those are the shots that keep me coming back for more abuse. Golf is witchcraft. Will_Mac
Temperamental.I'm currently at 2.1 yet last time out, a tee up from where I usually play and in benign conditions, I shot a 91. That just shouldn't happen.I score enough good rounds and mostly from the back tees to drive the index down. But my bad rounds can be absolutely awful. As referenced, the 91 (from 6,600 yards), yet literally the day prior on the same course I shot 77 in very tough, very windy conditions from 7,000+ yards.Maddening.
