PXG Spitfire Gen 2 Putter Fitting Today

I got custom fit for a PXG Gen 2 putter today and I ended up with their newest addition the Spitfire. I was fit by Lawrence from PXG at Aviara on their putting green which was a nice change from the usual carpet.

I tried all three hosel options, and boy were they different from each other. The double bend face balanced setup worked the best for my stroke, and I ended up with 35.5” length instead of my usual 35”. I didn’t alter the head weight as the stock option was just right. The grip was a Superstroke Flatso 1.0.

The feel off of the face was soft but had some pop to it. The greens were rolling slow and I didn’t feel like I had to crush it to get it there.

I will report back in 2 weeks after it arrives and I’ve had some time on the course with it.

Awesome! How many different head styles did you try? What loft/lie? What was the fitting “process”? I’ve only ever been through their iron and driver fittings.

Unfortunately no loft and lie machine was available. My fitter was very experienced and said to order it 1* flat which lines up to what my last putter was. I didn’t try any other heads. The Spitfire felt so good and rolled the ball so well that I didn’t need to go any further and confused myself. I just tried the 3 different hosel’s. The shaft’s are all height adjustable which is cool. I ended up needing a 1/2” longer shaft than what I have been playing. You can try any head/ hosel combo you want. All the shafts have the SuperStroke Flatso 1.0 on them which I prefer anyway. We putted on a practice green which was a nice change from getting fit on artificial greens that normally have a groove worn in the middle. I felt like I got a true demo of how the putter Would perform in a real world scenario. I hope this helped.

Did they have a SAM putting lab or GCQuad with putting analysis?  I'd love to have a real putter fitting.  Someday...

Unfortunately no. Putting on a real green was a good gauge for me.

SAM is really cool.  My older daughter got to use it at a clinic she attended.  Really interesting info.

I’ve used both SAM and Quintic. Quintic is my favorite as it dives a little deeper into your roll of the ball.
