I’ve been trying for years to get a response about the infamous Kirk Tripplet boonie hat!

You can get a hold of GOD easier than anyone at Ping! They act like they’re doing you a favor to actually respond to a simple 

question! How can I purchase a Black Ping

boonie hat just like Kirk Tripplets? Size 8,

“not one size fits ALL!” Are you in business 

to promote Ping products or just “arrogant pompous *******’s.”

I just recently started embracing the wide brim and bucket hats. Typically I wear ball caps, but as mentioned, they really don't protect your ears and neck.

If you're fine with no Ping logo you may want to check out Tenth Street hats. I picked up a couple from them with a buy one get one free deal that was pretty good.

With that attitude and tone, if I had a product or business  I wouldn't want you wearing my logo.

A couple years ago I started wearing the Titleist Boonie. I bought two of the tighter weave, sun blocking version and have been very happy with them. My ears are positioned on my head at a height where most brims will come down on them and bend them. The Titleist hat allows me to tuck them inside the headband, without the being bent in an uncomfortable fashion.

Randomly poking around as a newcomer and am finding some great threads, but feeling a bit overwhelmed with the overall content volume.   The Ping style looks pretty good, too bad it's not available to try.

I've tried wide brim styles before in a pro shop but they just didn't feel right.   I recently found one that fits real nice and soft around the head band, is an all cotton floppy style, and is super light weight, I would call it completely unstructured.   First time playing the other day with it on as if by magic I felt an urge to strut down the fairway like Jim Colbert once did but luckily I kept my composure.

Costco has had great wide-brim sun hats for YEARS — $15-$20. Tripletts’ Ping hat was available several years ago, but appears now to have been replaced by other Ping models. Tilley hats are almost indestructible and completely washable, worth their high price.

Titleist has some great Aussie hats and a lighter weight Charleston Aussie hat.  I have five of the regular Aussie hats and two of the newer Charleston hats.  It seems most have gone to a flexible one size fits all.  I wear a size 8 and the Charleston hat works well for me.  Attached are the Charleston hats.  They also make a Bucket hat but they see to run small.  Highly recommend them.

That's the Ping Boonie hat and they change designs every few years. I just threw that hat away with a red Ping logo. Ping may have sent him a ton of them at one time. The current hat is on their website.

Didn't know this about bucket hats.  Playing the other day in very high winds the hat kept flying off, it acted like a beach umbrella doing a Flying Nun routine.  Took a regular hat the next day just in case.
