bobby grace triumph

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone!

I was at the proshop the other day picking up stuff and I was showed the new Triumph putter. I REALLY liked the feel and weight of the putter. It moved very evenly in my hands. really great for pendulum motion. Just wanted to get peoples opinions on the putter more. I didnt get to spend much time with the putter but will likely go back to look at it again. I havnt had any experience withe the HSM inserts either. Any experience you've had with bobby grace putters would be really helpful.

Basically is this putter worth the $225 price tag, or would i be fine with a $160 odyssey.

If you sink putts, it is worth it.

There are some videos floating around showing Bobby at work and discussing his craft. Go to his web site and check the galleries.

He is top notch. If you look to the right side of this page, there is a way to win one. ;)

I'm not a bad putter. In general I do pretty well for myself. I've looked at the website and watched the videos with the robot. It looks like a great system and i think a really nice insert. I've read that some people have issues with the insert reacting unfavorably if its hit too centered sending the balling flying. I haven't seen a place to purchase them yet other then my pro shop. i guess its because its so new

I think that the insert issues were with the older MacGregor DCT line, although many claim there is no issue.

The Triumph is too new, and as you say, too rare for any kind of reputation yet. No sign in my local shop yet.

The MGS people have contact with Bobby Grace. I bet they can give you better info than I can.

I agree with Sactown on this and pardon me if I go on a rant here...

I've never understand why an amateur golfer would spend $400 on a driver that gets used at most 14-15 times per round and neglects the one piece of equipment that accounts for the majority of their strokes during a round.

Now, with that said, it always necessary to spend $300 to get a putter that works well for you. For instance, I never thought anything would push my Scotty Studio Style Newport out of the bag, but I recently tried a Rife Abaco and fell in love with it. I paid half as much for the Rife.

Bottom line - you should be willing to pay what's necessary to fit that part of your game because its the most important stick in your bag!

If you make putts with it....buy it.

I've always been a Bobby Grace fan, and have had several versions of his Amazing Grace putter. I actually still have at least two, and maybe three, different versions, and one of his Cobra models with the yellow HSM insert. The HSM insert is a bit on the softer side, so know that going in.

The only putter of his that's never seemed to work for me is the aforementioned DCT model -- I was one of the ones that had distance control issues with that line. Great concept, but I'm not sure if the implementation was executed the best.

any updates guys?! still havent seen any where to buy these online yet...

Not yet. I checked the local shop and they gave me the "two heads" look. You should probably just email Bobby Grace.

For some reason, he may know where to find one and when...

Contact number is on that page. They would probably be glad to hear that someone was interested.

Sorry if I missed it, but is there a picture of the Triumph anywhere? We need one of those "Useless without Pics" emoticon.

Yikes! I'm surprised with all the Scotty, Byron and blade talk that anyone on this board would want to game that potato masher.

Seems you missed the Win a Bobby Grace Putter Contest in the upper left of every page?

Oops... Well, I was just commenting on that particular design. His tour shop prototypes are much more appealing (to me).
