toehold57
Did some good stuff at work and was rewarded with a $100 gift card for eBay. Sorry, the wife ain’t getting this one, she’s capitalized on others I’ve received in the past. This one is mine. But what to spend it on? $100 isn’t a huge amount to work with. Don’t need gloves or balls, Costco handles that for me. I thought about looking at launch monitors but the recent article has put me off on that idea. Too little for clubs and I’m not really in the market anyways. Yeah I know, some of you think that’s blasphemy Training aids? I’m not thrilled with the idea. I’m sure they can help but my impression from you good folks is most aids end up in a corner gathering dust. Maybe a new bag? I have an old Ogio that’s seen better days although it still does what it’s supposed to. I like the looks of the Wilson Exo carry bag. I’d have to kick in a few bucks but not too much. Any other ideas? Help me spend my money! Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy
hckymeyer
How are you set for shoes? Personally if I'm set on golf stuff I'm looking at tools (currently in the market for a rolling miter saw stand), and occasionally truck accessories. Are you a music guy? A nice bluetooth speaker could work too. Check out @GolfSpy Dave 's reviews on the UE product line. toehold57
Shoes are a good idea but I’m set there as well. Adidas addicross or something like that. Very comfy for my jacked up arthritic toes. One of the drawbacks of being a semi-old fart is that you’ve already collected most of the tools you need. Adding anything else is a waste.Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy
HardcoreLooper
If you ever walk and carry, I'd check out the Sun Mountain 2.5. Most places are clearing out the 2019 models to make room for the new 2020s. I picked a new one up at Golf Galaxy on a whim for about $140. Looks like several retailers are clearing out their stock on the Bay: https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2499334.m570.l1311.R6.TR11.TRC1.A0.H0.Xsun+mountain+.TRS0&_nkw=sun+mountain+2.5&_sacat=0 I love this bag. I have a 2017 model that's a bit faded but still in really good shape. The new one will get the call once the old one just looks too s*****. tony@CIC 1 Quote What's in the bag: Driver - F8 - Aldila NV Blue 60 ( S ) 3 Wood (13.5*) - 980F 4 Wood (18*) - F8 - Aldila NV Blue 60 ( S ) 3 Hybrid (19*) - RBZ 4i - PW - D7 Forged - Recoil 760 ( S ) 52* - CBX 58* - CBX Full Face 2 Putter - Craz-e Bag - 2.5 (Blue) Ball - AVX Instagram - @hardcorelooper Twitter - @meovino Facebook - mike.eovino
toehold57
On bag front, I either push or ride. My main playing buddy has an issue with walking. My Ogio weighs a ton, that’s why it’s a possible candidate for replacement.Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy
HardcoreLooper
I push quite a bit as well. The 2.5 is honestly not the best bag on a push cart; it tends to twist during the round because it's so small. This doesn't bother me much, but I know that annoys some people. It's a great cart-path-only bag because it's so light, I don't mind taking it off the cart and carrying it when my ball is on the "wrong" side of the hole. cnosil and toehold57 2 Quote What's in the bag: Driver - F8 - Aldila NV Blue 60 ( S ) 3 Wood (13.5*) - 980F 4 Wood (18*) - F8 - Aldila NV Blue 60 ( S ) 3 Hybrid (19*) - RBZ 4i - PW - D7 Forged - Recoil 760 ( S ) 52* - CBX 58* - CBX Full Face 2 Putter - Craz-e Bag - 2.5 (Blue) Ball - AVX Instagram - @hardcorelooper Twitter - @meovino Facebook - mike.eovino
PlaidJacket
Why not just donate it to a charity or some kids golf organization. If it's not transferable then just ask them what they need. dhartmann34
I'd be spending it on some rain/cool weather gear myself. LeftyHawk
When I have a hundred bucks or so I look to improving my short game by tinkering with wedges and putters. Being left handed and not really needing "new" I can pick up used clubs pretty cheap, you never know which one will "ne the one" to save you strokes out there. Chris Quote Far and Sure...... Anyhow, I'd recommend reading our review, but the TL;DR is that the trainer and mirror are aces, but the mat will develop a groove down the middle with repeated usage. I still use it; it's better than nothing. I think they'll get it right in the next iteration. The folks at PuttOUT are pretty solid, and they owned up to the groove issue. They did tell us that at some point you'll compress the mat fibers across more of the surface and it won't be as big of an issue. We'll see - haven't noticed that so far, but I'm not practicing as much as when I was testing.
