Been really intrigued by this, but keep reading too many mixed reviews to pull the trigger.  I understand that for $99 you aren't going to get much, but i would like consistency with direction if anything.  Feedback would be warranted if someone owns this.

Unless these mini “launch monitors” are free, they just aren’t worth it. What good is inaccuracy?

Here's my $0.02 for what it's worth.

I've had R Motion for a couple years now. I have a hitting mat and net in my heated garage. I like the driving range and most of the courses are fun to play. The carry distance it shows assumes that you made good contact with the ball. So if you hit a shot thin, it won't show an accurate distance. But otherwise, the distance and shot shape is what I would expect out on the course. It's good at measuring your swing speed, club face open/closed, swing path, etc. because the sensor is on your club and it's only able to measure those type of metrics. Like someone said, you get what you pay for. Is it perfect? No. But it's good at what it does and being able to keep my golf muscles in shape and play some virtual golf helps keep the winter blues away for me. 

Just last night, I took a screenshot of a swing. I'd just had a Golf Tec lesson and we're working on changing my swing path. I usually have a very flat in-out swing and play a draw/hook. We're trying to get the swing more neutral or upright. You can see in the screenshot that the path is 2* out-in. In the past, that would be 9* in-out.

Rapsodo claims to be the manufacturer of SkyTrac. 

Makes sense, as you can combo the R motion to get more shot data with your SkyTrac. 

 

However, I now know they will never make any LM or Sim that falls between what they now offer and SkyTrac

 

Being able to combo the small monitor with R motion would kick butt though, stay tuned I hope?

Interesting I didn't realize they were part of the same ownership. I hope to get a skytrac one day but hopefully once I have the setup and funds to handle it the tech will improve even more. It is unfortunate they most likely won't have any device to fill the gap between $500 & 2k but I guess that's a small market. We all just want thing more accurate at less cost.
