That's all she wrote. Final tally: 16-14 for the US squad. That was a fun day of singles play.

US are always strong in the singles for this and the RC. Fourball and foursomes they are pretty poor at but it's not something you can (or they want to) practice at anytime.

Pretty sure the USA had a losing record in Presidents Cup Singles over the last few Cups going into this year.

I will say. Yesterday was far more exciting than any football game I watched all year.

Wish they would have tied though. USA is becoming the Patriots/Crimson Tide of golf... in this one anyways. Plus I like Ernie, and most of the International Team.

Besides the whole Reed thing, this was more enjoyable to watch than the last Ryder Cup.

This was the first time since 2009 that the US side won a singles session at the Presidents Cup.To be fair, though, they hadn't needed to until this year's competition.

The US dominance of this event really comes down to foursomes. Golf Channel showed a graphic yesterday that the US team has outscored the Internationals by I believe 32 points in foursomes in the history of the Presidents Cup. That's a lead of a full Cup's worth of points and some change in the toughest format.

US are always strong in the singles for this and the RC. Fourball and foursomes they are pretty poor at but it's not something you can (or they want to) practice at anytime.

Nice comeback.  I like Ernie, but I thought Ernie was pretty cocky during his interview after Day 3 when he told Tiger that the fans were similar in NY... get over it.  He also smirked when Tiger said that he was optimistic of a comeback.  I think it pi$$ed off Tiger.

Except for a few great putts by a few of the US players during the week, I thought the US team putted extremely poor. They seemed confused by the line and had the speed wrong a lot.  Putting was better in the singles, but even then... some poor putts by Kuch, Rickie, Webb, Finau, and Thomas.  Lots of 3-jacks.

We don’t stop playing the game because we get old; we get old because we stop playing the game.”

Great set of matches through really! Thoroughly enjoyed the event - course was perfect, great play, tight and on at the right time for me to watch.

@frogginbullish I didn’t have time to get in on your reply to my post. We beat the JT thing up a couple of years ago. I disagree that a fan cheering for a ball to go in a bunker or water or OB or anywhere really after the shot has been hit should be removed. I wouldn’t do it personally but so long as there’s no obscenities included it’s ridiculous that a fan was removed for it - exactly why golf struggles to keep its fans and players.

But to each his own - I realize JT is popular and Reed is not - if both were at the top of a leader board I would root for Reed. I also realize there are people who think that fans should not root against a player - at least not out loud. I disagree with them as well.

You reply was helpful though, I had forgotten about the perspective that JT was correct in having the fans removed.

Oh, I agree. I'm not saying JT should have had that fan removed, but he was completely within his rights to do so. I don't remember the exact specifics of that situation but I would imagine there was a bit more to JT asking for his removal than just the "go in the bunker" shout.

Unfortunately when your in the Public Eye you have to take the crap. Security seemed to be lax and I would have thought Reed should have a little extra security when he s a target.
Didn’t get the pairing either unless Tiger has a good reason.

Excessive security to what we're used to mate. Not even allowed to bring a bloody backpack in. I'm glad Trunk couldn't come, the Secret Service would be going nuts.

I'd agree. He has enough experience dealing with jeering crowds but there's always going to be a line for anyone. His caddie's line was obviously crossed yesterday, which doesn't excuse the violent response though, but I think we all can understand losing one's composure when faced with constant negative comments towards one's character.

Jeering crowds? Hell, that was nothing compared what the Yanks put on when it's their time to host. The only one who got stick was Reed. I followed DeChambeau around for most of the day, and there were three sledges in total. 'Choke on your dumbells/ protein powder and 'Why are we waiting...'.

For someone who is typically hated as well, was very much nothing.

Even Reed was clapped for good shots (Out of the bunker!).

Just watched several of the final round highlights and it was clear that Team USA's putters came out of their deep freeze... and none too soon as the International players were dropping putts from everywhere.  Now who besides me wants one of those Navy Blue team puffy jackets?

It was up there as one of the best team events ever IMO. The closeness, a little controversy, two great captains, some outstanding play, great course, tremendous galleries - it had everything.
