Open to technology like sky caddie so long as it doesn’t slow down play. Think technology within golf is a slippery slope but don’t have an issue with the information this device provides. Think it can speed up play and enhance someone’s experience out on the golf course.

I read sprinkler heads, ask my buddies who have range finders, and guess.

Just having some idea of the distances and hazards, has helped my game significantly over the past several years. Give me better tech, and I could be awesome or less awful. It seems to work well for my golf buds.

I currently do not use any type of gps or distance measuring device. I have playing partners who use the watches, and occasionally they'll check a distance for me. Otherwise, I just wing it which is hit and miss. Mostly miss but occasionally a hit.

Without a doubt, technology is here to stay, at least with the weekend warrior golf crowd. I had went about a decade without playing and just returned to the game this year. Previously when I was playing regularly, none of the people I played with had any kind of of distance measuring device, not even a rangefinder. However, more than half of them now have the gps watches. It is currently a growing trend and appears it will be so for some time to come.

I currently get my distances from markers in the ground.

I feel that there is some technology in golf that helps. For example range finders and gps. But there is some technology that manufacturers tell consumers just to get them to buy their products and are just gimmicks.

Use the step off method from sprinkler heads or stakes.

We expect a lot from our reviewers – writing a thorough, detailed, and honest review is a commitment, requiring extensive on-course work as well as participation in the Forum itself to answer questions and discuss product performance with other golfers.

That means to be a potential reviewer, you must be a registered member of the MyGolfSpy Community Forum, where you’ll find thousands of like-minded golfers from all over the world anxious to talk about golf equipment.

Never used GPS. Estimate by sight, yardage stakes (100, 150, 200), Zen, and best guess.

Technology is fine and useful: more to some than others. I tend to pay more attention to equipment technologies than electronics, but I do always look at how equipment testers and bloggers use the latest tech for their data collection and analysis.

I am just starting back.  Haven't played in over 3 years and I have played off and on for about 30 years. I'm a hacker and looking to get better.  Just bought a set of G400 irons and Driver.  Never broke 100 but now I'm retiring soon and going to be playing at least 3 times a week. Never used anything for getting yardage other than course markers.

I think technology would greatly improve my game, so I am all for it.
