Since you mentioned earlier that you are a fan of Mike Malaska, I would highly recommend Mike's videos and focus on aligning your shaft with your right forearm, and pressing the shaft into the ball through impact - working on your swing from impact backward. If your impact position is wrong, nothing else matters, and you will forever fight inconsistency. I feel like the hip turn DJ shows at impact is a natural result of an intent to compress the ball with right forearm squeezing the shaft. I'd start with partial SW shots and mess with impact until you are they are rocketing effortlessly off your clubface. Then video your impact position and compare it to the pros. dlow206
I've decided to move forward working with Alex Moore on the Skillest app. I like his philosophy that is grounded on fundamentals. We are going to start working on the most basic fundamentals including grip, posture, and other setup fundamentals. The Skillest app subscription format will work well for me I believe, because I can submit videos for feedback at any time, and i can ask questions at any time. For example, i can just submit a video of a grip check and get feedback on that. sirchunksalot, Vegan_Golfer_PNW and cnosil 3 Quote Follow my golf journey to break into the 80s Tester for the Titleist TSi Driver Spring 2020 MGS Tester for the Fujikura Motore X Shaft Updated 07/15/2022 Driver: Rogue St Max LS - Autoflex Fairway Woods: Rogue Max St 3HL and 7 Wood Irons: JPX 921 Hot Metal 5 to AW - Aerotech Steelfiber i95 Stiff parallel tip Wedges: Glide 4.0 54 and 58 Putter: PLD Custom Kushin

LOL 1) comparing swings to pros is an exceptionally poor strategy. Especially one of the most flexible guys on tour with a unique set of matchups. You need to figure out what moves you are physically capable of. 2) Of all the differences to compare in these photos you prioritize the small difference in forearm position? How about approximately 45 degrees less hip turn to setup shaft lean and compress the ball? cnosil 1 Quote G425 MAX Driver & 5W Baffler Rail-H 3H-4H 699 Pro Utility V2 - 4i APEX CF19 6-AW INDI Wedges 52, 56, 60 EAS 2.

How about approximately 45 degrees less hip turn to setup shaft lean and compress the ball? I was clearly too terse. 1. Every decent golfer on the planet looks similar at impact. Maybe without that much side bend, but definitely with hips open that much. 2. The open hips and angled shoulders are what allow you to press the shaft with the forearm!!! Put a sandbag or something where the ball is and start from a static address position. Now press so hard with your right forearm that you bend the shaft significantly. You will be in DJs position, and your left leg will be clearly behind your right leg, with your shoulders angled down. My point is that it makes no sense, from an efficiency of improvement point of view, to worry about the minutiae of earlier positions in the swing if your impact is that far off. Once you learn the feel of a solid impact position, and how to swing through it, many, many other things fall into place in short order. Trying to make so many changes at the same time is very difficult. I am not an instructor but I am currently a 1.3 handicap and have been where you are. I think we all have at one point or another. I will just tell you a few things that helped me. A common trend throughout all your posts seems to be in your grip position. I think we all have struggled with this during the early stages of our golf journey. What I found that worked for me is the simple golf training grip that you can pick up for around $12.00. Put it on an old club and just use that while hitting balls into your net. After a while the grip position will be ingrained and not even a thought. I was given some advise back in the day that has stuck with me over the years. My instructor said to me "you don't hit anything on the back swing, and a fast backswing leads to inconsistencies in the transition to the downswing" slowing down my back swing fixed some of my issues at the time. If you looked at S.J. Im at the Masters you saw how slow his backswing was. His results were very impressive and consistent even with the pressure of playing in the Masters for the first time. (Not that you need to be that slow but that was for reference.) The other simple item that helped me was a piece of cord. I got a 6 foot piece of cord and staked it to the ground at both ends and all I did was practice swinging the club down the length of the cord. You can see if you have a good swing path that way. As long as the 6" before impact and the 6" after are along the cord your path will work. Get a square club face during that distance and you will be in the zone. I know you are trying the on line lessons currently. What happen to the instructor at your club. Not a good fit? Keep up the good work and I look forward to you breaking into the 80's. Thanks the training grip seems like a good idea. Regarding lessons with the head pro at my club, his lesson was helpful, but didn't focus too much on helping with my root cause issues. It seems like giving lessons in not a major priority for him, and he didn't even suggest more lessons or anything like that. Tom the Golf Nut
Ok. Just checking. I hope the online works out for you. I prefer the in person one on one approach. I'm fortunate to have two good instructors at my club. One of ours has worked with a kid that has now just turned 16 and just broke the club record with a 62 from the blue tees. That's just not right! My problem is that I'm to lazy to ask them for any lessons and I'm afraid they will try to change something when I'm already playing well. dlow206 and sirchunksalot 2 Quote Driver, TSi 1 S Flex 3 wood, Aerojet Max UST Helium Nanocore R Flex 5 wood, Aerojet Max UST Helium Nanocore R Flex 7 Wood, Aerojet Max UST Helium Nanocore R Flex 5 Hybrid King Tec MMT R Flex Irons, Tour UST Recoil 95 R Flex (6 - Gap) Wedges, Snakebite KBS Hi- Rev2.0 54* & 60* Agera 35" Ultralight 14-way Cart Bag

TooSteep
This is from a video advertising DST training clubs, but the information and presentation is excellent and really worth watching. I like that they show in great detail how, why and when we lose control of the clubface. 100% of tour pros reach full extension after impact. 84% of club golfers reach full extension before impact (20:29). (Only the final 40 seconds of the video talk about their product.) Although I have been taking lessons at Golftec regularly since August, yesterday's lesson was what made me realize what the true root cause of my swing problems are. Here is a video of before and after swings taking during a single one hour lesson I'm only gonna make one comment on your swing, a problem I've had in the past, which my instructor explained is the cause for a lot of bad swings, and errant direction. With the video at .25 speed. place your pointer on your hands at address, and keep it there while watching the backswing. You'll see your hand action causes the club head to move at least a foot away from the ball before the grip has moved away. Now, you're playing catch up with the rest of your body, and it's hard for the average golfer to do. if you drew a line from your shoulder, down your arm, along the shaft to the ball, EVERYTHING should move at the same time. In the 'after' (right) version of the video, it appears the club head moves even farther than in the before swing. As someone who's been there, fixing that will make a huge difference in your results. Good luck on your journey. dlow206

Tom the Golf Nut
I just ordered something in stock and it won't be delivered for 5 days. dlow206
@Tom the Golf Nut - i will say that the grip trainer you recommended made me notice a few things with my grip. They are things that even instructors might not noticed unless they look only at my left hand gripping the club close up. Feel like everyone who is a beginner or high handicapper should buy one of these. sirchunksalot 1 Quote Follow my golf journey to break into the 80s Tester for the Titleist TSi Driver Spring 2020 MGS Tester for the Fujikura Motore X Shaft Updated 07/15/2022 Driver: Rogue St Max LS - Autoflex Fairway Woods: Rogue Max St 3HL and 7 Wood Irons: JPX 921 Hot Metal 5 to AW - Aerotech Steelfiber i95 Stiff parallel tip Wedges: Glide 4.0 54 and 58 Putter: PLD Custom Kushin

But you can always snap it back on to check yourself periodically. sirchunksalot 1 Quote Driver, TSi 1 S Flex 3 wood, Aerojet Max UST Helium Nanocore R Flex 5 wood, Aerojet Max UST Helium Nanocore R Flex 7 Wood, Aerojet Max UST Helium Nanocore R Flex 5 Hybrid King Tec MMT R Flex Irons, Tour UST Recoil 95 R Flex (6 - Gap) Wedges, Snakebite KBS Hi- Rev2.0 54* & 60* Agera 35" Ultralight 14-way Cart Bag
