Zero being that freezing point (your 32) makes it simple as if there is a minus sign in front I'm not golfing if there is no minus sign just look for frost and I'm good to go... We all adapt eventually... Today no golf... -7 (feels like -13) and snow covered... if I wasn't so sad I'd chuckle!! tony@CIC
tony@CIC
Celsius makes it sound much colder. It's going to be 4*C here in northern Ohio and supposedly 10*C on Friday. I think I prefer 40*F and 50*F it just sounds better to me. Kor.A.Door
I have one rule: if the course is open and allowing play, I will be there. Temps don’t matter. I have deal with going to work all week, Saturday is golf no matter what the temps show. NRJyzr
My grandparents came from northern Finland, and I seem to have inherited the personal furnace that goes along with that. I started playing golf at my 35th birthday, anything 40*F and up was good, and upper 30s was no problem if not too windy. In summer, I'm that guy wearing shorts if the temp is 50* and up. Mid 80s and up can be ugly for me. I'm 56 now, and the furnace doesn't run as it once did. I find those low 40s much less pleasant, to the point I may not bother trying to play. I now even own a pair of golf mitts, wearing them in between shots when the temps are in that zipcode; they weren't on my mind 10 years ago. Aging. Mostly true. If you grew up in the north, then moved south. It doesn’t matter how cold it is. You will always go. I remember wanting to golf in January I’m Michigan a couple times. toehold57
I played last week. First day the course has been open in almost 3 weeks.Couldn’t push a tee into the ground, frozen. Hit the front of the green from 153, it bounced 15 feet in the air and ran off the back. That was the second hole. I knew from then on it was just a play day, enjoy the 50 weather. Good thing, I couldn’t get off my back foot all day long. Slices and pulls. It was still nice to get out Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy
