GolfSpy BOS
Well with the leaked photos I’ve seen of the SIM and MAVRIK this is what I’d rank the big three releases we’ve seen: 1. Cobra2. Callaway3. Taylormade Ping and Titleist would probably slot in above Callaway with the G410 and TS line if I included them. I’m holding out hope that the SIMs “speedback” isn’t as awkward in the flesh as it has looked in the photos. Looks more like a rudder sticking out there. It’s disappointing to me because I really liked the M5. (Well I guess it isn’t that bad, because if I upgrade it will likely be F9 or M5 anyway, but the white speedzone looks amazing too. What’s everyone else thinking? I just feel like the proportions are off on the SIM compared to what Cobra has done. pozzit
I can see Cobra being the best offering but Callaway and Taylormade have big marketing budgets. I would say Cobra Speedzone of Mavrik coming in MGS top pick but Taylormade will beat cobra in sales. GolfSpy BOS
As more and more pics come out of the SIM it looks like it might not be that aggressive. GolfSpy BOS
Well that was certainly an interesting story by Tony today. Seems like Mavrik is going to be worth a swing or two. It also looks MUCH better than those first leaked and even the USGA photos. Seems like those people take the photos in REAL close so you loose the shape of it. Going back to my OP I still think the Cobra looks the best to me right now, but the top of the taylormade may push it past the Callaway. I'm more of a fan of the matte finishes I guess. Quigleyd
I am very impressed by the offerings this year. I do not think the Cobra feels hard, yes it is on the firmer side but I enjoyed the feedback. The SIM is a ball speed monster but I feel it is a bit more fickle and needs more fine tuning. It is also very low spin so, loft up. The Maverik is almost too muted for my taste, but I am someone that didn't mind the epic flash so.. Shape wise, the cobra is more angular to my eyes, the SIM is pear shaped and the Mav is like a cannonball. Something for everyone out there. There's a reason I game the G410 plus with no desire to switch to the lst. My good hits with both are bombs. Mishits with the G410 plus retain their spin on high strikes and only spin up a little more on low strikes. LST on high toe strikes would potentially drop out of the sky for me Micah T, Golfspy_CG2, fozcycle and 1 other
