Popular Post dru_
Perhaps only slightly golf related. Several years ago, I had an opportunity to go on a golf trip courtesy of the fine folks here at MyGolfSpy. On that trip, I made a couple of friends, but one in particular has been a truly great friend in the years since. I won’t name names, he knows who he is. Tonight, I had a brutal reminder that life is short, as a friend was killed in a random traffic crash. And it reminded me. Do not pass up the moments to remind dear friends what they mean to you. The opportunities may never return. In addition, a reminder to share with others. Do NOT let those moments pass. And to the person in question. You know who you are. Thanks for being that friend. GimmeAnother1
Yea I had a close relative pass right before this Christmas. I realized the same and started doing Sunday dinners at my home and inviting various family and friends each week. Life is short especially as we get older. I find gatherings around food bring everyone together for good times and remembrance as well as plans and thoughts for the future. Even the ones that aren’t with us leave everyone around them still here and dealing with it. Besides I feel like bringing everyone around together makes it easier to feel their spirit as we all gather and talk about the loved one now gone from this world. Just food for thought. My condolences. MGoBlue100 and tony@CIC

Golfspy_CG2
Sorry for your loss. And yes, it's something we all often take for granted. Nobody is guaranteed tomorrow. So we should all take time to let those we love and care about, know that we do. My mother passed unexpectedly in 2015. She was 52. Ever since then, I’ve had no issue telling those close to me what they mean to me. I’ve told many a friend that I’m proud of them, I love them, and I’m happy to have them in my life. Learning or remembering to do that the hard way sucks. Plain and simple. My condolences to you and anyone else impacted. MGoBlue100
I’ve actually made a couple friends sort of uncomfortable telling them in “public” that they were important to me. But, like some of you, I’ve come to the realization that you need to tell people that you love that you love them. Seems simple, but it’s often not, eh?
