RSS
Looking for some help out there and am going SGI. I purchased the T300 but not impressed. I see Ping has the G710 coming out this week and rumors of the Titleist T400. Any direction is appreciated.
hckymeyer
My advice would be to wait until they are released and then hit them and see what works best for your swing. Jbmullin
There are some great SGI options out now. Cobra t-rails, Cleveland, Wilson .. certainly wait for the ones your naming above to come out but some very good options out there. Good luck and for sure go get fit . fixyurdivot
Highly recommend getting fitted; which affords the opportunity to test different clubs/shafts... a win/win daviddvm 1 Quote G410 Plus, 9 Degree Driver G400 SFT, 16 Degree 3w G400 SFT, 19 Degree 5w ZX5 Irons 4-AW Glide 2.0 56 Degree SW (removed from double secret probation ) ER5v Putter (Evnroll ER5v Official Review) AI-One Milled Seven T CH (Currently Under Product Test)
sirchunksalot
I'm going to agree, don't get stuck on just one or two brands when there's several out there that might work better for you. I would suggest since you're looking at SGI to also look at the Cleveland Launcher HB Turbo and to also swing by DSG and give the Tommy Armour Atomic Irons a swing. They don't have the customization options, but they're easy to hit and definitely get the ball out there. As@fixyurdivot said, hit as many as you can, it's a winning proposition for you.Sent from my SM-N975U using MyGolfSpy mobile app daviddvm
Golfspy_CG2
Niether model has been released. So I don't know how anyone could give an opinion on n them yet. As Hckymeyer said. Wait until you can demo or better yet get fit before deciding. Also. What don't you like about the T300? Poncho
Can anyone post picture of G710 beside the T400 iron?
Golfspy_CG2
I didn't have them side by side at the same time, but I have held both. The T400 is noticeably larger overall and from the top line. BigM
I agree with others here, get fit by a reputable fitter and be open minded. I got fitted earlier this year and I did lots of homework on clubs I was interested in but went in with an open mind to suggestions. I really liked the look of P790 but when I hit them the numbers were all over the place, so looks are not everything. That being said, when you look down at your club it needs to look appealing as this influences your confidence when striking the ball. I saw the G710 but did not consider it as the head was too big for me. I ended up with Honma TW-X irons which were not even on my radar until I watched a video for TXG out of Toronto. The numbers were right, they felt good, and they looked great other than the sole is slightly wider than some, but not a problem as I cannot see that when looking down. So get fitted, try everything you can with various shafts until you hit your sweet spot. A good fitter will help you eliminate many heads very quickly once they get you in the right shaft. PDuvie
I had purchased T300, but I found that I hit a much better iron, Ping G410, I liked how Ping would not put out new clubs until they can be better, although I thought that the Titleist were well made. ChitownM2
I have the 919 Hot metal and G710 on my shortlist and was hoping to hit the T400 before things went on lockdown. One thing to keep in mind, although it may not be an issue, is that the T400 irons are really expensive. Like $220/iron compared to the G710 which is also very expensive at $163. Most other irons are ~$125 per and with the Mizuno price drop last week, the 919s are down to $100.
