The Golfball That Changed a Town

Anyone see this apparently new documentary on the Golf Channel, nominally about the transformation over the decades of Callaway’s golf ball manufacturing plant in Chicopee, MA? Makes several claims that fly in the face of recent findings from MyGolfSpy: The Chromesoft is/was longer than previous more traditional balls (per Phil Mickelson) and that the plant’s high technology insures that every ball’s core is perfectly centered.

It's a marketing/damage control piece.

It’s exactly how I perceived it. Chip talked about how initially it was only going to be a $30 million dollar investment but due to pressure they upped it to $50

It was all about making people feel good about what the brand has done since buying it and how they grew the business back up after the success of the callaway ball lineup.
