If this was discussed a long time ago, please link me to the old thread.

So, I see the ads all the time for Bombtech Golf Clubs and one of my friends has liked their page on Facebook, but does anyone really use Bombtech clubs?  I've never seen them on a course and from looking at their website, they look chunky and out dated.

The Bombtech driver was included in the 2015 Most Wanted Testing: https://mygolfspy.com/2015-most-wanted-driver-data/

MGS' testing protocols have changed some since then, but the relevant numbers are still there.

I bought the Bombtech Grenade driver when it first came out. Had some money sitting in PayPal and liked the story that Sully the owner had partnered with the University of Vermont engineering team to co-engineer the design. So I bought out of curiosity and in wanting to support the venture.

Sully actually hand-picked a clubhead for me with exactly 10° of loft and .5° open face. When received, it measured out exactly to those specs.

The stock shaft, forget what it was but a quality brand, was solid but even at x-flex, way too soft. Swapped it out for a RIP Beta x-flex and the driver was darned near perfect for me at a playable length of 44.5".

Played it for 4 years I think it was before giving the Epic a shot and never looking back (LOL, then the Rogue SZ, G400 Max, now G410). Since donated the Grenade to the First Tee program.

I don't like the look of the irons or wedges, very gimmicky, and I wasn't ever a fan of the lime green accents on my driver. But I loved the matte black crown free of alignment aid and certainly its performance for me.

That driver, at least, was just as good as most out there IMO.

Bombtech is garbage. Their owner is a liar and a snake oil salesman. The entire R&D story is crap. The made in the USA is false.

I'd like to hear more and some supporting evidence.

Nah I'm good. I've read and heard enough and I don't need to regurgitate it all here - not worth my energy. The information is out there all over the internet.

High Spin awful sounding driver

No R&D at university of Vermont (lies by sully)

Made in China

Assembled in China

I don't know about the "all over the internet" line... I don't care for Bombtech myself, but I had never heard the claims you made either. I Googled and found nothing. I got more from simply searching the MGS forum. How hard would it have been to at least link to an older thread which you took part in?

@AmishJason @SmoothG, The thread linked below doesn't quite go into detail about what's been said here, but hopefully the information Tony and others provided is enough to help you get a better idea of what Bombtech is selling.

I didnt want to post links to GolfWRX, but there are a bunch of threads over there explaining what happened.  Heck, the owner used to post over there until he was exposed as a fraud and then he disappeared.

Thanks for sharing this.  I never was considering buying their clubs.  I just keep getting bombarded by their advertisements.

Seems if they're now taking the old Warrior Golf approach

Every time I get on Facebook or Instagram I run across their ads.  Usually when I'm browsing ad laden websites, I get them and Cut Golf.

Thanks for the clarification. I feel you. Think I’ve maybe shared a link to their site once or twice and every time it just feels wrong lol.
