New Ben Hogan Bags

GolfSpy Barbajo

Recommended Posts

Ben Hogan is adding a couple new bags to its lineup.

First is a dual strap Sunday bag, a very simple, 3-pocket bag that weighs less than 3 lbs. It comes in the black/navy color scheme and is priced at $90.

SundayBag_Front_HR.jpgSundayBag_Back_HR.jpg

Second is a cart/staff hybrid type bag. Hogan calls it a Midsize Staff bag - but it's smaller and lighter (9 lbs) than a typical staff bag, but it's more stylish and decked out than a typical cart bag. It has 11 zippered pockets, full-length dividers and all the other stuff you may or may not need. It's one color way - Hogan white, blue and red, and is priced at $265.

StaffBag_01_HR.jpg

Hogan still has its BH-1 stand bag that's been in its catalog since the company returned in 2015. Those go for $150.

You can check them all out at Hogan's website.

That staff bag is indeed gorgeous and I was thinking my 54 Precisions would look good in it and actually for a mini staff bag that is reasonably priced. The Sunday bag is also reasonably priced.

I like the Hogan signature more than anything. Classic - timeless - iconic. Titleist too. Those signatures alone belong to golf or anything golf related.

Agree.  While Titleist is a close second, the Ben Hogan signature is pure gold.

Absolutely we will get along!!! Couple of questions regarding those Precisions (you may have already discussed this somewhere but I have not seen it if you have).

Are yours matching serial #'s (if any/ experimental ones that were never destroyed..)? Do you have the rocket shafts? Or did you re-shaft them? I am envious that I am asking someone that actually has a real set. Great little treasure you have IMO.

First off you are going to freak out on this-- I found the set minus the 8 iron in my usual spot on the scrap pile at work. One of my buds on WRX had a matching 8 iron and he sent it to me. Mine do not have numbers at all. They do have the rocket green shafts. Mine are not pristine by any means the 9 iron has been used so much and regrooved that the grooves are hogged out and flattened. They have the same shafts as my 53 Macgregor Toski Mity Mites. The thing I like about mine is I can play them and not worry about really hurting anything. Mine are stock as far as from what I have been told by Hogan Experts. I do know the 53s had boxed grooves ( nothing to do with Ping) and supposedly Mr Hogan did not like them and ordered them destroyed. Something about that does not sit exactly right with me because I have seen too many sets with the boxed grooves pop up here and there and i have also seen quite a few sets pop up with the XX serial number which were supposed to be the experimental sets. DeeJaid on here knows more about the Hogans than I do and he is a good guy and will answer anything if you ask him. Like I said mine are players and I extended them 1 inch and have rubber Tacki Mac wrap grips on them

They are visually a great iron, they play like a blade should play, when striking it crisp they are true to yardage. Probably should have gone with the PTs, but I like to customize my irons and at 325 for new heads I couldn’t pass those up.

I got lucky, a guy bought the set, used them once and pulled the heads...so basically brand new, I fitted with black KBS customs. I will probably stay on the lookout for some black PTx Pro heads and do them with a nice black graphite shaft...these irons will last forever.
